We recently connected with Cruzer Urameshi and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Cruzer, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I knew as a kid that I was going to do something with music involved. In school people used to give me their iPods and let me add music on to their iPod very similar to people making their own playlists in today’s time.
Cruzer, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Cruzer Urameshi and I am a music producer. I produce genres such as hip hop, Lofi, Synthwave, and been able to have high level success within those genres. My disciplined work ethic is one of the many things that separates me from other producers. I also have a good Spotify following with over 1500 followers and do give quality tips for artists and producers to help grow on that platform. What most of my fans like a lot about me is how authentic I am. Being the genuine individual I am has presented me with more opportunities in music and with my consistent drive that I have I’ve built up quite the reputation as a producer.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I graduated high school in Georgia I moved to Oregon a week later. I was starting over at ground zero and had to make a lot of adjustments and when I began meeting people involved in the music scene, I realized how far ahead I was from a large bulk of the scene from a work ethic, mental aspect , and a business aspect which was very difficult to network in the city. I made the focus to work outside of the state and country which more people took note of.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Be open minded about listening to artists that are coming and don’t wait until they’re nearly famous to support them. When your friend is talented genuinely support them and always present their name in a room they might not be in but that you have access to. I also believe that counties and states should have programs for artists and producers to be involved with the community and help build each other in a safe environment.
