We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cross Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cross, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Everyone has crazy stuff happen to them, but often small business owners and creatives, artists and others who are doing something off the beaten path are often hit with things (positive or negative) that are so out there, so unpredictable and unexpected. Can you share a crazy story from your journey?
I have been through the storm with this clothing line from emotions and dealing with hate but also supporters. Most craziest story is when people recognize me out in public. I was at a baby’s party and some auntie said “I love your clothes I need a tote bag design to go grocery shopping” it’s sick.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My Name is Cross Williams I am 18 years old and a designer from Houston but live in Baytown. I got into this industry just by making art and painting then one day wanted it on a shirt and had my friend Brendan help me. If anyone ever had a problem with orders my dms on insta and email are always open I’m glad to provide anyone with any help. I think what sets me apart is I don’t care what others think I will drop whatever I like even if people hate it, I know the real ones will buy I’m dark and crazy with it. I’m proud that just people are proud of me, and people actually buy my clothes it truly amazes me. Main things I want people to know the sky is the limit do whatever you want don’t listen to anyone. My brand is based off of dreams and things I’ve seen.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
With the same people who buy A lot I’ll go out my way and text them and thank them. Or if people post what they bought I’ll repost it on my story.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Get my clothes in stores which I’m working on!!
