We were lucky to catch up with Cristina Schutz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cristina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The idea for SchutzCoaching ignited from a journey filled with a decade in corporate leadership & development, personal discovery, passion for entrepreneurship, and the drive to empower women. Venturing first into real estate and then blossoming a flower studio into a six-figure success, I uncovered a profound love for building businesses and the transformative power of creative thinking and strategic planning.
Amidst these endeavors, I recognized a gap – a need for a holistic approach that not only focused on business strategy but also personal growth and mindset. This realization sparked the concept of SchutzCoaching. I envisioned a platform where entrepreneurs, especially women, could find not just guidance but a community that supports their entire being – professionally, personally, and emotionally. I have had coaches and mentors in my career and some were amazing and others fell flat. The common barrier I kept experiencing was it never felt like a tailored approach to me, the coaching experience felt like it was made for the masses. I didn’t enjoy it at all. From a business perspective and understanding the need to create a scalable offer, I get it, but for me, I knew this is what is missing in the business coaching arena.
What excited me the most was the opportunity to offer something more than just business coaching; it was the chance to provide a journey of transformation, empowerment, and success, tailored uniquely to each individual. This wasn’t just about solving a problem; it was about creating a movement towards meaningful, impactful entrepreneurship that is sustainable and creates a generational impact in these women’s lives.
This blend of personal passion, identified need, and the desire to make a real difference was the logic that convinced me SchutzCoaching was not only a worthwhile endeavor but a necessary one.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My BIG WHY —I finally figured it out after many years, and it is ME. Every day I show up for myself, and I will be honest some days it is the best version, and other days it is full of dry shampoo and naps! Being an entrepreneur is the greatest thing I have ever done and at times be the loneliest and hardest. Finding myself in my early 30s miserable, working for a company that was never going to hear me or see me, in a toxic relationship, living paycheck to paycheck, and just existing; I didn’t want to just exist. I wanted to live. I know… cliché AF, but it’s my truth. I grew up in an environment where I didn’t know things like home ownership, financial security, unconditional love, and success (I mean hard-core success) were even an option. I finally woke up and realized this was not the life I wanted & set out to create and build it from the ground up!
My journey began with a leap into real estate, fueling my passion for entrepreneurship, and leading me to quickly establish an independent brokerage. I immersed myself in mastering business operations, marketing strategies, and self-improvement, embracing every learning opportunity. This path reignited my creativity, igniting the launch of a flower studio. My passion and strategic approach quickly scaled the flower studio to six-figure success, solidifying my love for building and owning businesses.
Throughout my journey as a business owner, I’ve discovered the exhilarating challenge of building and transforming businesses, fueling my growth and affirming my identity as a multi-passionate individual. This path has not only expanded my horizons but also sparked a genuine enthusiasm for helping others on their transformative adventures, blending my varied passions to inspire success and creativity.
I have always had a passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing – no matter my role I always found a way to incorporate this. So naturally as I stepped into my multi-passionate entrepreneurial journey; coaching & mentoring had their place in everything I did. Over the past couple of years, it became very evident that this is where my heart was and that it was time to make it my focus. I knew I didn’t want to be another ‘cookie-cutter’ coach; I had to ensure it was in alignment with who I am as a business owner and how I show up for myself and others. This took time! I felt frustrated and for the first time in a long time; imposter syndrome was getting the best of me and I was scared I couldn’t make it.
That thought right there… “I was scared I couldn’t make it” is EXACTLY why I knew it had to work out. So many women around me have this thought about their career, business, and life in general, and instead of falling into the cycle too, I am setting out to help show women how to get out of it.
To create a coaching business I truly believed in, I asked women what they needed, asked friends, and asked myself. Every offering is designed to empower you, helping to strategize your path forward and transform your business vision into reality.

Thinking outside of the box, creating a sustainable foundation and strategy while creating tools that help you succeed and the accountability you need! Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
In my early 30s, I faced a pivotal moment, surrounded by circumstances that many would find insurmountable. From enduring a toxic relationship and the stark realities of poverty to navigating a career that felt unfulfilling, my life was a testament to the struggles that can dim one’s spirit. Yet, it was within this crucible of challenges that my resolve to not just exist but truly live was forged. I set out to redefine my narrative, turning my back on a life of mere survival to build one of success and fulfillment from scratch. This journey wasn’t just about changing my circumstances but about transforming my mindset around worth, money, and what I could achieve. My resilience as a woman in business isn’t just my story; it’s a beacon for anyone who dares to dream of more, proving that with determination, the most profound transformations are within reach.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my social media audience was all about authenticity and sharing my journey, the ups and downs alike. I started by sharing my story, engaging with followers, and providing real value in every post. I also only show up when the message feels aligned
Soical media is tricky! It can be for some their main & only source of leads that convert to sales and for others it can be a waste of time. Anytime I consult on marketing and social media we have to start at the basics, even if the client thinks they have one. First, it’s about identifying your ideal client, creating an avatar of this person, naming them…take it all the way. Now figure out where this ideal client would go to find your services. From here it’s about marketing strategy.
My advice for those beginning their social media journey (business or personal) is just to start. Don’t wait for perfection; your authentic voice and genuine interactions are what will resonate with your audience. Over time you will get better and your audience will be even more loyal watching the transformation.
While consistency is key, as is staying true to yourself and your journey.
