We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cristiano & Sheena Savage a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cristiano & Sheena, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
We both found our love for music as children, Sheena began signing at the age of 6, entering national competitions at the age of 10 and studying at a prestigious music school at the age of 12. Cristiano began playing guitar at the age of 7, forming his first band at the age of 10 and performing in bars and clubs as young as 14. The desire to pursue music as a career was always there but more of a dream then a reality. When we met and began Savage & SHē in 2015 this was the first time it seemed possible to make a career from music. Each year became more successful then the last and in 2018 we finally made our first international tour, traveling through Europe, Asia & North Africa

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We got into the electronic music scene/nightlife as DJ’s and each year we developed further in our craft. We became a live act in 2018 around 3 years after we started our musical project together. In a very over saturated market of “DJ’s” we feel we set ourselves apart by incorporating live instruments, vocals and original music to all our performances, giving the fans/audience an authentic piece of us in every show. It’s new and exciting at every performance as we do not plan what will happen but rather get inspiration and energy from the audience, their culture and the destination we are performing in.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
For us and all traveling/performing artists 2020-2022 was a very difficult time. With extreme travel restrictions and risks it was the most difficult time to continue to earn a living and share our art with our fans. We had major set backs, cancellations and times where we got stuck in foreign countries due to quarantines and ever changing rules. We did not give up on our passion and we did whatever it took to sustain ourselves and keep moving forward as artists / performers. Today we are grateful to see the world open again as we continúe to travel and explore this incredible planet we call home.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of our career is bringing light to peoples lives. When we meet fans or receive fan mail we hear of times where people are really struggling and our music helped them through difficult times, or when people celebrate happiness in their lives with our music. We have had the honor of performing for fans all around the world at their weddings, birthdays, company events and more. It’s such a beautiful thing how music and connect us all,
