Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Crishtbel Mora. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Crishtbel, thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Achieving success is possible regardless of the obstacles, and the frequency with which they appear in your life. In our time, it is a great responsibility to teach the new generations that dedication, perseverance, resistance to adversity, and having a positive attitude in addition to being grateful for each experience, is the right path to achieve any goal you set for yourself.
Crishtbel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I began my career 18 years ago in my country, before finishing university. From the first moment, I knew that communicating would not only be my passion but also my lifestyle. I learned a lot about TV production, scriptwriting, and news, but it wasn’t until I arrived in the United States that I started working as a reporter, and that facet completely captivated me. Now I have 7 years of making audiovisual reports for national channels and international media. Last year
I received two awards for a story that has been the most difficult in my career. Enter alone an intensive care room for critical patients with Covid19 and report on the difficult task of doctors trying to save a life, without success. The sad job of informing families and the emotional impact of losing a life for which they were fighting until the end. Beyond the awards, my great prize has been the recognition of my colleagues, all the messages of congratulations put in my heart an enormous amount of confidence, pride, and again, much gratitude for doing what I like with love.
But as of June, I take on a new professional challenge, the NBC network hired me to be part of its wonderful team and I am already part of the staff of the tri-state station of Telemundo in New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. It is a great moment for me, I am very grateful to the great professionals who bet on me for this position, and invited me to apply in this process.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing about applying creativity daily in the way we tell stories is that the audience understands the message, identifies with it, and then tells you that thanks to that there was a change in their perspective or decision making. At the end of the day, reporting a fact is not just about repeating what happens in our community, but also having a responsibility to educate the public, and attract their attention so that they actually understand that there is a social commitment behind the knowledge that we obtain. thanks to the daily work of journalists.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely. My mission is always to educate and sow a seed of awareness in the public.
