We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Crave Beats. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Crave below.
Crave, appreciate you joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
I’ve been able to earn a full time living from my creative work because I’ve remained consistent and passionate about my career. By no means is owning and running my own business easy however it’s worth all of the hard work it takes to be successful. It definitely didn’t start off this way, like anything you want in life you have to work for it. Consistency will always be key. Just staying motivated has been a major step and milestone being able to handle the fluctuations of entrepreneurship, having faith that the energy you put into your brand will repay you.

Crave, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a 26 year old self taught celebrity makeup artist and creative director. I got into the industry thinking I wanted to be a hairstylist. I’ve always been artsy and creative, a look that stands out. Extremely unapologetic with my expression so it turned into me finding my niche under the beauty umbrella. I began doing makeup on clients and instantly fell in love. I’ve been madly in love ever since, going on 9 years in this industry. I’m an artist that loves Full-Natural glam, absolutely love a makeup no makeup look. I do enjoy testing my creative limits so at times my clients definitely take me outside of that. I think what sets me apart is my undeniable ability to adapt, constantly evolve all while falling deeper and deeper into my passion. While creating experiences I’m able to showcase my talents and my clients feel amazing. I’m most proud of the beautiful memories I get to be apart of with my amazing clients. People should know I exude professionalism, I’m bubbly, very welcoming and my energy is top tier..

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist and creative is seeing my ideas come to life. Whether it’s wedding photos, billboards, publications or the big screen. That’s one of the best feelings to actually see the hard-work and dedication crafted in dope way.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My family for sure. Having a better life, being able to provide and take care of myself and my loved ones. Living in my purpose, having a career that doesn’t even feel like work. The excitement I feel whenever I get a new booking drives me to keep going.
