We were lucky to catch up with Craig Vincent Jr. recently and have shared our conversation below.
Craig, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I’ve always wanted to be a “rapper” even as a kid, when the teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up that was my answer! Now it may not be that simple for everyone but I had the talent I just needed the exposure in my book. This was back when everyone felt they needed a “label” to succeed so my goal was get signed and everything else will happen. But it was NOT that simple haha. So by the time I was 16 I took matter into my own hands, I was gifted a mic & a computer for Christmas and I learned to record and mix myself. By time I started my freshman year in college I had a few “fans” and made a little name for myself, I did a few shows and it was overall an awesome experience! I still make music but I’m currently shifting into overall content creation instead of limiting myself to just one talent!

Craig, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve always had a knack for entertaining people, I mean my dad has been a DJ since I was a kid so it was kinda embedded in me since my early days. That’s how I got into content creation, the goal is to be the reason at least 1 person smiles, if it’s from a video, a stream or just a conversation that’s my goal!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
This is a great question because we are actually pivoting now! Of course just like with everything you usually start with one thing and then take on a little more after you’re established. I started with just music because it was what I knew but I figured out very quickly that I am a man of many talents! I decided to not limit myself & branch out into a few different things, this includes songwriting, video editing, streaming, producing and so much more!
How’d you meet your business partner?
She’s my wife hahaha. We’ve been together for over 10 years and we are very similar in terms of goals and financial stability. We are looking to set ourselves and our future family up for generational wealth and figured why wait!
