We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Craig Goldberg a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Craig thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
Scaling inHarmony has been a thoughtful and strategic process, marked by a series of deliberate steps aimed at ensuring sustained growth and a meaningful impact in the health and wellness space.
One of our key strategies involved a phased approach to launching our products, introducing one carefully crafted product at a time to the market. This methodical progression allowed us to focus on each product’s unique features and benefits, ensuring that we were delivering exceptional value with every offering.
To further enhance our reach and engagement, we introduced the inHarmony Music Meditations App, providing users with a convenient and immersive way to experience our meditation furniture. This digital extension complemented our physical products, creating a holistic approach for users to seamlessly integrate into their wellness routines.
Our commitment to quality is our number one priority. Recognizing that the strength of our brand is directly tied to the excellence of our products, we invested significantly in developing high-quality items. This not only solidified our reputation for delivering top-tier wellness solutions but also contributed to customer loyalty and satisfaction.
Recognizing the importance of community, our customer-centric approach aims to exceed client expectations by actively seeking feedback, implementing customer suggestions, and prioritizing customer satisfaction. Craig, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am grateful to share more about the origin story of inHarmony with you. What better way to bring you into the community than to share more about our family and how I became passionate about the world of vibroacoustic therapy.
About ten years ago Ipek, my wife, began showing signs of illness. For over six months, we sought answers from various doctors and specialists, undergoing numerous tests and appointments, yet none could discern the root cause of her ailments. Despite our efforts, her condition remained a mystery.
It wasn’t until a close friend suggested removing gluten from our diet that we saw a breakthrough. This pesky ingredient was causing inflammation in her body, and within three days of eliminating gluten, all her symptoms vanished. This experience prompted a deep dive into understanding the intricacies of the body and sparked my journey into the realms of the mind-body connection, mindfulness, and overall well-being.
Fast forward a few years and our entire family embraced a gluten-free lifestyle. My wife, Ipek, is feeling so much better. But there is another twist to the story that’s equally important to my drastic career and lifestyle shift.
Upon transitioning to gluten-free, I experienced an unexpected decline in my health, marked by a noticeable drop in energy. After months of struggle, a pivotal moment occurred on a Sunday morning when I started researching food. I discovered that my body was undergoing detoxification after cutting out gluten, leading to a decrease in energy.
The second key learning was about genetically modified organisms (GMOs). I watched a documentary called “Genetic Roulette” and after taking notes and fact-checking what I learned, I realized just how many foods we were eating and products we were using that were genetically modified. Motivated by these revelations, we purged our home of harmful items, adopted a vegan and organic lifestyle, and meticulously adhered to a clean diet, even bringing our own food wherever we went. This transformation introduced us to essential oils and eventually led us to discover vibroacoustic therapy.
Deep into our health and wellness journey, we became fervent learners about the benefits of essential oils, eager to share our knowledge with others. This passion fueled our travels to educate individuals about the efficacy of essential oils in interacting with the nervous system.
While we were traveling and teaching about essential oils, I was constantly drawn to the sound baths at the conferences we attended. I wanted to be able to recreate this feeling in the comfort of my own home to have “sound therapy on tap.”
Armed with a 5.1 stereo system, I laid down in the starfish position, surrounded by speakers, and cranked up the music to try to replicate that feeling.
At this point, I knew that I wanted to continue to try to recreate this feeling, but I didn’t have the right technology. Soon after this, I connected with my now Business Partner, Dominic Carnevale, and had my first Sound Lounge experience. Halfway through my session, I took the headphones off and realized he had recreated exactly what I was looking for.
Since then, Dom and I have been working together, supporting one another and building the beautiful inHarmony community of like-minded, exceptional human beings, on a quest for optimal human performance.
