We recently connected with Courtney Zuber and have shared our conversation below.
Courtney, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
Honestly, I think I started Simplee Cone at the right time. If I had started sooner, I might not have had the experience or clarity I do now. And if I had waited, I probably would have talked myself out of it! Every step of my journey working in the floral industry, learning what clients need, and figuring out the gaps in the market led me to create Simplee Cone. So, while there’s always that ‘what if’ thought, I feel like the timing was exactly what it needed to be!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hey! I’m Courtney Zuber, the owner of Simplee Cone, and I’ve been in the floral industry for eight years. I also own Cone Flower Designs, a full-service wedding and event floral company. Through that experience, I saw a huge need for fresh, high-quality event flowers that were affordable and easy to order. That’s where Simplee Cone was born!
Simplee Cone is all about making flowers more accessible. We offer preset floral collections based on color palettes, so clients can get beautiful, budget-friendly florals without the stress of custom design. Our collections aren’t customizable, but they’re carefully curated to fit a variety of styles and events. This makes the ordering process easy, predictable, and affordable solving a major pain point for people who love flowers but don’t have the budget or need for a fully custom design.
What sets us apart? We’re florists first, so we design with intention. Every collection is created with the same level of care and expertise as a high-end floral order. Plus, we focus on consistency clients can trust that what they see in our photos is what they’ll get.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how Simplee Cone makes fresh flowers more approachable. Weddings and events can be overwhelming, and I love that we’re providing an option that keeps things simple while still feeling special. My goal is for people to feel confident ordering from us, knowing they’ll get gorgeous flowers without the stress.
At the end of the day, I want our clients and followers to know that Simplee Cone was built with them in mind. Whether you’re a bride on a budget, an event planner looking for an easy floral solution, or someone who just loves pretty flowers, we’re here to make the process simple and fun!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an audience on social media didn’t happen overnight it took consistency, trial and error, and a lot of showing up even when it felt like no one was watching. When I first started posting, I wasn’t overthinking it. I just shared what I knew, what I was working on, and what I wished someone had told me when I was getting started. Over time, I realized that people don’t just follow for pretty pictures they follow for value, whether that’s education, inspiration, or entertainment.
For anyone just starting out, my biggest advice is: show up consistently and be yourself. Don’t wait until everything is perfect, because that day will never come. Post your work, talk about what you’re learning, and don’t be afraid to let your personality shine. People connect with people, not just products.
Also, engage with your audience social media is a two-way street. Reply to comments, start conversations in your DMs, and genuinely interact with other accounts in your industry. It makes a huge difference.
And finally, don’t stress over numbers. A small, engaged audience is way more valuable than a big, disconnected one. Focus on building a community, not just chasing followers. Stay consistent, offer value, and the right people will find you!

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
We sell Simplee Cone exclusively through our website because we wanted full control over the shopping experience. Since our collections are preset and designed to be a seamless, stress-free option for clients, having everything in one place just makes sense. It allows us to showcase our collections exactly how we want, control pricing, and keep things streamlined without the limitations of third-party platforms.
That said, our other business, Cone Flower Designs, does use platforms like Amazon Storefront, Benable and Stan Store for digital resources and other offerings. Those platforms are great for quick, easy access to things like our Venue Details Documents, which florists and planners can grab without needing a full e-commerce setup.
The biggest pro of selling through our own site is control we manage everything from branding to customer experience. The con is that we’re responsible for driving all the traffic ourselves, unlike marketplaces like Etsy or Amazon that bring in built-in shoppers. But in the long run, we love the direct connection with our customers and the ability to scale the business on our own terms.
