Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Courtney Taylor . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Courtney , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?

The idea was there. It stemmed from my daughter being bullied in 1st grade. That was eye opening for me. Like wow, I know there are more little girls of color out here probably going through the same things or possibly worse.

I already had a few little girls around me. I started meeting with them talking about different things like hygiene and having integrity and morals. After the legalities were in place, I started posting to social media and giving flyers out. It picked up pretty fast. The need is out here.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Little Lady Leaders Inc is a 501(c)3 mentorship program consisting of little girls of color, ages 5 to 10. They create a sisterhood of little ladies that may need a mentor, an outlet or a confidence boost. We are hoping to be the village that makes a positive impact in the lives of our Little Lady Leaders. We feel that when we fully love ourselves, we exude the confidence that enables us to be great. .

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Word of mouth, honestly. Mentorship is necessary. Once we start putting the word out, people are genuinely interested. Then those interested, tell their loved ones and that number doubles.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

Our Mission is achieved through a monthly topic covered by a lesson, self awareness exercises & a corresponding field trip to end the topic of the month.

We cover a wide range of relevant topics with our girls, including but not limited to;

Building Healthy Habits
Encouraging inner peace
The importance of understanding bullying & why it happens
Building Self Confidence and why it’s necessary
Introducing the topic of Morals, values & financial literacy
