Courtney, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Because i really enjoy art such as painting, crafting, digital art, etc, and especially music and piano i’ve always known that i wanted to pursue these things professionally even if i didn’t really have a clear idea on how. Things in the creative field like music and arr have always been my main strengths.
Courtney, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been drawing since childhood and am mostly self taught, i got into music and piano when my mother and i met my piano instructor at Costco when i was in the 4th or 5th grade and he decided to teach me piano. I make designs and pieces for companies. I also do piano bookings for events and activities.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In the beginning i actually didn’t really enjoy piano and at one point even wanted to quick because of how strict my piano instructor was in teaching me. Because my mother didn’t let me quit i decided to continue and just do the best i could and as time went on i started to get better. When my instructor dies a few years ago i was able to use what he taught me to continue improving my skills to where im at now.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I would like to share the things i enjoy doing with other people and be able to do it professionally. Because music is what im most passionate about, i would also like to do right by my piano instructor’s efforts to spend the last few years of his life teaching me.
