We recently connected with Courtney Mathis and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Courtney thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
The idea for my creative services and business was inspired by my children. I started Momtitask during Covid-19 when I was a stay at home mom with 2 kids under 2 years old. I was going through postpartum, breastfeeding exclusively, and finding hard time trying balance motherhood while being an entrepreneur. I was all over the place at first it started as just an idea going on live then I started a podcast with my partner and we started off being influencers before it was “influencers” we started experimenting with merchandise, photoshoots and even a wine collaboration. It’s definitely been a journey worthwhile that I’m still trying to figure out as I go. I believe I can succeed because I realized the parenting industry and children will always be in demand. Momtitask the Mother multitasking life, self care, children, marriage and families etc.

Courtney, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started in this industry as a manager and publicist. I have worked in every industry from music, fashion, non-profit, political and corporate etc. My passion for building brands carried over into my passion project with the Momtitask Podcast. I believe Momtitask sets apart from other brands because it’s built on an organic audience. Mostly, the brand is still growing and developing with the audience. A community for mothers, women, godmothers, sisters, wives and girlfriends to be their authentic self while multitasking through everyday life challenges. I’m most proud of the fact as Momtitask grows it’s only getting better we have a lot planned for the holiday season as we rebrand were moving in the direction of inclusivity you don’t have to be a mother to be apart of this community. We’re the platform where you can truly be yourself, feel good and look good. Be your best self for yourself first and your loved ones. Self-care and loving yourself are the core values of my brand, because this is something I’ve learned during this process as a new mom, mother of 3 toddlers under 6 I want all women to feel they can do it all and your dreams don’t have to stop because of motherhood. It’s our supernatural power!

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
One of my favorite marketing strategies we used around mother’s day we had a collaboration with a wine company and we collaborated on the wine and it sold out. We didn’t expect to sell out so fast and we used reels this was when dee;s first came out. We easily learned the importance of supply and demand. You must be prepared when you launch something for the first time. We learned through trial and error but it was a lot of fun. A good experience we may do it again for the holiday season.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think my reputation as a publicist gave me creditability and my reputation with the audience feels like they can trust me. We’ve been able to interview some big brands based off our personal relationships. Interviews including Myra Anderson founder of the Sean Anderson Foundation (Big Sean’s Mother), Dr. Sabrina The People Expert from Fox 2, award winning publicist Teia Wallington From Love Publicity and Rocky Reality award winning journalist to name a few.
