Courtney Kitty, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?

One of the most innovative things I’ve done in my career is to think independently and leverage multiple platforms to express my creativity. From writing movie reviews on my website to creating TikToks about my cats, I’ve expanded my digital footprint in diverse and engaging ways.

Courtney Kitty, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

To be transparent, my social media presence is entirely freelance and unpaid. Creating content is a way for me to reach an audience that appreciates my creativity and to boost morale. I’m proud to work independently without compensation during my free time; it serves as a form of creative therapy for me.

My journey began with creating onthescreenreviews.com, where I’ve been leveraging my journalism degree to review movies since 2012. I’ve since expanded to Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, sharing these reviews and keeping followers updated on my life. Mental health, my cats, and my hometown of New Orleans are all important to me, and I strive to highlight these aspects across my platforms.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

My creative resilience has never waned. My eagerness to create, learn, and stay on top of trends has been a constant driving force. I started back when Facebook was in its infancy and social media was a new frontier. Every year, I have dedicated myself to learning and growing in this ever-evolving industry of social media.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My creative goal is to uplift those who may feel unheard, need a boost, or simply seek entertainment. I openly share my mental health journey, incorporating it into my content. By doing so, I aim to connect with new people and brighten their day.
