Courtney, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

Birth of Mars, a creative portrait photography business based in Phoenix, Arizona, comes from Sandro Botticelli’s famous painting “The Birth of Venus” where the goddess Venus, stands nude as she is born out of a sea shell. This masterpiece is the first non-religious depictions of a nude woman, marking a significant moment in the evolution of artistic expression. The “Mars” in my brand name reflects my roots; having been born and raised in Arizona, I have always saw my hometown as a martian landscape.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I specialize in creative portrait photography tailored for small business owners and individuals celebrating significant life milestones, such as weddings and/or having a new baby. My portfolio includes both studio and lifestyle photography. Regardless of lighting conditions, age, or the number of subjects, you can trust that I will capture the concept beautifully.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

For potential clients, followers, and supporters, it is my goal to capture the image inside your head and bring your dreams to life.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

I am constantly working with new people and people who find me from instagram! Those connections help me grow and make my reach so much larger. I find with photography, the work will speak for itself.
