Can you talk to us about growing your team – how did you recruit the first few people, what was the process like, how’d you go about training and if you were to start over today would you have done anything differently?
I began my journey with Coldwell Banker Southern Realty in March 2023, joining a firm with a remarkable history and a vision for growth. Established in 2020, Coldwell Banker Southern Realty was founded in Lawrenceburg, TN, when our owner, Rich Cosner, acquired Coldwell Banker Counce Hooper. This strategic beginning was followed by the opening of a new office in Columbia, TN.
Since then, our firm has experienced significant expansion. In April 2023, we acquired Coldwell Banker Seagroves Neese in Shelbyville, TN, and in July 2024, we further solidified our presence with the acquisition of Coldwell Banker Barnes. Today, we proudly operate nine offices across Tennessee and hold the distinction of being the #1 Coldwell Banker in the state, with over 375 dedicated agents.
When I first stepped into my recruiting position, it came with its challenges. However, being a people-oriented person, I quickly found my footing. This role has been a continuous learning experience, allowing me to grow both personally and professionally.
My favorite aspect of this position is the opportunity to help agents thrive. I recruit individuals at all stages of their real estate journey—newly licensed professionals, experienced agents, and even those exploring the possibility of entering the industry. I guide them through the licensing process, from preparing for exams to applying for their licenses. Once onboard, I coach and train them, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to excel and become the best agents they can be.
Being part of their journey and witnessing their success is truly fulfilling. It’s a privilege to contribute to a firm that not only leads in the industry but also prioritizes the growth and success of its agents.
