Hi Cortez, thanks for joining us today. Who is Godfellow?

Cortez Godfellow Currie, better known by his stage name Godfellow, is an American rapper hailing from Memphis, Tennessee. Godfellow has been making waves in the hip hop scene with his unique style and powerful lyrics. Growing up in Tennessee, Godfellow was exposed to a diverse range of music from a young age. His parents were both music lovers and encouraged him to explore different genres. From a young age, Godfellow showed a natural curiosity and love for learning. He excelled in school. They also taught him the importance of giving back to the community and helping those in need. As he grew older, Godfellow developed a passion for music. He taught himself how to play the piano and started writing his own songs at the age of 12. His talent and dedication to music were evident, and he soon became a local sensation. However, it was hip hop that captured Godfellow’s heart. Godfellow’s early years were not easy. He faced many challenges and obstacles, but he found solace in music. He poured his heart and soul into his lyrics, using his experiences and struggles as inspiration. He drew inspiration from artists like 8 Ball and MJG, Too Short, Scarface, Devin The Dude, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G, Pimp C, Nas and Jay-Z, and developed his own distinct sound that blended elements of southern rap with conscious and introspective lyrics. In 2008,
Godfellow released his first mixtape, titled “The Mixtape Godfather.” The mixtape received positive reviews and caught the attention of record labels. However, Godfellow chose to remain independent and continued to release music on his own terms. In 2012, Godfellow released his debut album, “Who is Godfellow.” The album was a reflection of his life and the struggles he had faced. It received critical acclaim and solidified Godfellow as a rising star in the hip hop scene. In 2012, Godfellow caught the attention of major record labels and signed as A&R with Universal Music Group.

Over the years, Godfellow has collaborated with various artists and continued to release music that resonates with his fans. His lyrics are a mix of introspection, social commentary, and personal experiences. He is known for his smooth flow and clever wordplay, which sets him apart from other rappers. In 2018, Godfellow released his most successful album to date, “SackReligious.” The album featured hit singles such as “Trap Trap Trap” and “2 Blunts,” which received heavy rotation on radio stations across the country. I came from the MySpace days. Using my vast knowledge in computer data and input skills I adapted to the technological changes in the industry. My advice to anyone is stay consistent and motivated. There will be challenges but things will provide results; when hard work beats talent
