We recently connected with Corneshia Davis and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Corneshia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Leap in my terms “jumping the gun” in a positive way. Taking a risk to better my life not only for myself but for my loved ones and to bless others whom I encounter throughout my day-to-day life. My risk taker was starting a commercial and residential cleaning business in 2020. At the time, I was employed, successfully performing my work duties but making between a $13-14.50 bi-weekly. Fulltime of course, but bills were due for my essential living needs. I knew this vision I painted as we all say, ” picture perfect”. To be the best business owner and a unique spiritual “light” to my family and local community. However, the extra money I did accumulate doing overtime was used to purchase my first LLC and cleaning inventory. I discussed this amazing idea to a few of my close net relatives. I received so much positive feedback regarding this million-dollar idea! No, I’m not financially gaining a million dollars at this time but I manifest the goal daily. I ponder about being a business owner comparing the pros and cons of starting the business. However, I believe everything you do in life has pros and cons, but I will make sure my pros outweigh the cons. I performed so well at every job due to me being multi-talented and intelligent. I advanced at all jobs I landed because I’m my own “competition “. I have to be a fierce strong woman, with a will power to do great things and be a role model to others aka ” Sharing the road to success”. This risk taker to successfully operate my own commercial and residential cleaning business was the best decision I could have made. Every day is a new day to create ways to make revenue and strategically map out ways for advancement business wise.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Corneshia Davis known as “Neshia”. I own Davis Spick & Span Cleaning Services LLC. I started my own commercial and residential cleaning business 2020 in the month of July. The products used to clean are professional top of the line cleaning products. Chemicals used specifically for different surface areas in a home, retail store, medical facilities, gyms and much more. My business offers top of the line cleaning skills with 100% customer service satisfaction. I offer deep cleaning, pre/post construction clean ups, trash removal, move-in/move-out cleaning and additional services.
However, I take pride on making someone happy. Customer service is very important when owning a business. I know how it feels to purchase a service and receive horrible service with no explanation. After all cleaning jobs all customers are encouraged to spot check after the cleaning services and immediately notify me of any mistakes spotted. Problems are addressed the same business day before 8pm or within 24 hours. Listening to the customer is key and owning up to any honest mistakes performed. My business stands out from other cleaning companies because the work performed by Davis Spick & Span Cleaning Services is Superior. We offer the best services with the most important factor of 100% customer service satisfaction of no disappointments.
Davis Spick & Span Cleaning Services LLC is a business to be proud of. Since the purchase of the LLC license, the business has not taken out any loans. All monetaries invested for the business is from being employed full-time. Owning a business full time and working full time seems like a lot but all the hard work and dedication will pay off. I’m actively seeking for contract opportunities and to eventually become a disaster relief cleaning company. I have a background with 6 years of disaster recovery experience. I will continue to strive for greatness as a CEO/Owner.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
As we may all know that there is no “I ” in Team. A team is built to successfully thrive together to get the job done. We all have to work together in order to achieve the daily goal of building the business. To be known in the community as a business you can trust and count on. To manage a team I believe respect, communication, commitment, and dedication all weighs on managing a team. We all have a goal while performing job duties and that is to make the customer return for more services or spread the word to their family and peers about the business. At the end of a game, when a team wins all the players jump up and down with joy because every player can “get a piece of the winning trophy”. Offering incentives and an open floor for feedback keeps a team in the business mind set but allowing people to be diverse. Each individual is unique with a special skilled that keeps a business afloat. In other words, we all sit to the winning table together.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I have a “silent business partner” this person never doubted my abilities to achieve my desired goals. A person who is very close to me and always willing to help bring my passion to that high milestone of revenue. My business partner is a blessing to have, due to the hard worked and time put into the business. My willingness to keep my word of being a success story plays a big part of my day to day growth.
