We recently connected with Corinne Cochrane and have shared our conversation below.
Corinne, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Beatha is the Gaelic term for life. I was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. I wanted my company to be the building blocks of my own story. Beatha photography evokes the idea of capturing the essence of life in every shot. It symbolizes nature, candid moments and authentic expression.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have always enjoyed photography. At a young age I remember my aunt getting me and my twin sister a bracelet and I started crying because i wanted a digital camera. I did eventually get that camera and I took it to Spain with me. That is where my love of photography started. Throughout the years I would take photoshop classes, photo basics classes and even film classes to dive into the world of cinema. It was not until I met my husband who had been an avid videographer for years that finally pushed me to become my own photographer. My husband is currently branching out and working more in the corporate side of videography. I would be able to help him on wedding days and multiple smaller gigs. But now that he is branching out on his own I decided this year would be the year to step into my own. I have enjoyed finding out my own style and shooting preferences. I am proud of being able to say that I took the leap and I am actually truly enjoying it. Being able to capture these moments in an artistic way is just amazing. I was even able to capture my friends engagement ! The way that I will be able to savor these moments forever just makes the work that much more meaningful.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of this journey is when people truly love your work and reach out because of it. Its almost a pinch me moment when someone reaches out to you and says “I love this! Are we able to recreate this?” It just goes to show that my artistic point of view and the way I am visualizing things is being reciprocated and loved. Any artist will tell you we have moments of “will people like it?”. So having just one person interact with your work or book you because of it just makes the job worth it.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Yes I wish I knew more about gallery delivers. When I first started I would just email my clients the photos and it was not the best method. The quality of the photos diminished and it really messed up with my storage. I eventually watched a Youtube video where they compared gallery/websites and finally decided Pixiset was the best option for me at this time.
