We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Corina Corbeille, RN, CANS. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Corina below.
Corina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Corina Corbeille, RN, CANS and I’m a Registered Nurse and Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist by the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses. I am Founder & CEO of The Art Of Anti-Aging® in Austin, Texas and have been in medical aesthetics in Beverly Hills and Austin for 20+ years. Our mission at The Art of Anti-Aging® is to provide an exceptional and educational customer experience by tailoring the highest quality cosmetic treatments for face rejuvenation to each individual client in a sophisticated, professional, and non-intimidating environment.
Noticing a gap in the medical aesthetics industry, inspired me to take the risky leap to business ownership. It’s a very exciting generational time we are living in, where medical aesthetics are less taboo and now just as common as getting your hair done. Taking the cold medical office away, elevates a patients experience. That synergistically with delivering aesthetically pleasing results, is how The Art Of Anti-Aging® was born. My mission is to create self care goals that are attainable and accessible to everyone, keeping in mind that these are medical procedures that must be performed by licensed medical professionals.
Multiple factors including age, volume loss, severity of lines and wrinkles, and skin tone/texture, for example, are taken into consideration when developing your individualized anti-aging plan. When done with educated precision and an element of artistry, injectables are a brilliant and powerful tool to combat aging. Therein lies the ART!
The Art of Anti-Aging® offers top aesthetic treatments such as Botox, Fillers, Kybella, chemical peels, microneedling, custom facials, skincare and much more. We like to approach anti-aging with prevention and starting early when possible, although it’s never too late to start your anti-aging regimen. Taking care of your skin is vital to maintain a youthful appearance. A combo of treatments and skincare is necessary to combat the aging process at every age.
We set ourselves apart with exceptional customer service; customized consultations with an artistic approach to face rejuvenation, preventative and micro-treatments in a luxe setting. At The Art of Anti-Aging® our artistic approach to aesthetics and emphasis on educating clients is our passion. Prevention, preserving, and reversing the aging process with an artistic talent and cutting edge techniques is our philosophy to create natural, youthful results.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Even to this day I pinch myself walking daily into The Art Of Anti-Aging®, a dream that is now a reality. Taking risks is part of entrepreneurship and business ownership if you want to make things happen. Just as “No” should become a word that inspires you! Although I haven’t always been this fearless. When I was a toddler, I would not cross a room alone, but instead hold onto my mothers leg due to shyness, or cry from across the room until she would come pick me up. Apparently I had a good set of lungs! In high school there was a turning point, due to a few personal experiences, that created motivation to take full advantage of living life to the fullest. From then on a fire was lit!
Risk taking is a vital element of the human experience. You never know your true capabilities until you take a risk. Each person has their notion of risk whether it’s calculated or not, we have to weigh the options at hand. Living out dreams requires risk taking, passion and never taking no for an answer. Taking risks opens up a new world of possibilities you never knew existed and elevates our self growth. I actually welcome challenges accepting them as a core element of human life.
Why not me? A questioned I’ve often pondered when making big life decisions. Having self doubt is normal especially when taking huge risks. For 2+ years I struggled with the “Why not me” and felt I was in survival mode grinding away to bring career dreams to fruition, with no guarantee of success. But pushing through the limitations and walls we create around ourselves, will open up a limitless world of empowerment and opportunities. Also, always remember and nurture your Why.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Risks and pivotal moments are part of us becoming our truest selves and fulfilling life’s purpose. Two big career risks I’ve taken in life thus far come to mind. The first is resigning as senior cosmetic/surgical nurse with celebrity plastic surgeon Raj Kanodia, MD, FACS in Beverly Hills to backpack around the world for 3.5 months. Included in this mostly solo travel, was a medical mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, West Africa. I didn’t know what to expect, what we would encounter, how I would be received, if I really would do any good, and ultimately I had no idea at that point how much this experience would actually change me and life as I knew it.
The second risk is resigning from employee and taking a leap of faith to become your own BOSS! The Art Of Anti-Aging® is a career achievement.
There is no guarantee that the risks you take will be successful, but there most likely is a guarantee that you’ll regret the risks you didn’t take. Always picture the worst case scenario and failure as an option with any risk to keep things in perspective and be mentally prepared. Being a nurse, in the healthcare industry with job security, has allowed bigger leaps in pursing career dreams.
Risk equals reward, because even if you fail you gain perseverance, self enlightenment, and grit to take back to the drawing board and start over. For if everyone in life succeeded in all aspects, that wouldn’t be life. I try to look at life with a half full glass mentality.
Risk taking is a core element of human life and human existence. At the end of my life I don’t want to regret the risks I didn’t take, better yet celebrate the ones I had the courage to take! So cheers to the shy little girl who would hold onto her mothers leg and not cross a room, to the now female entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of a woman owned business, The Art Of Anti-Aging® in Austin, Texas.
