Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Corey Wagner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Corey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I was early to knowing I wanted to be a creative. For me, I started writing comedy scripts in High School. That eventually evolved into directing and editing my scripts into Short Films. After creating short films for a decade I eventually fell into working on YouTube and that’s been my career for the past seven years.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have a few Youtube channels I’m currently apart of. My largest, Number Six With Cheese, is a channel where we review Fast Food (for the most part). I also have a channel, Eat Local, for reviewing local resturants, my personal channel, Corey Wagner Chicago, that tells one story a week around my life as a creative living in Chicago, I have a channel The Mahoney Boys for my comedy short films, and a channel Sorry For Killin, for clips from the Stand-Up show I run at The Laugh Factory in Chicago.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I have a few goals on my current journey. First and foremost is to keep paying rent which is a difficult task in today’s saturated digital media market. After that, I just want to keep making the best content I can!
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I’m a HUGE reader so I have a few books that have helped me on my journey. The two most significant being, The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin and the other book being, Creativity Inc by Ed Catmull
