We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Corey Nery-Guity. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Corey below.
Corey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
On the surface, Champion Circle Enterprise, LLC is a brand development agency for micropreneurs. A micro -prenuer/ business is an organization that wants to stay small for autonomy and profit. We provide them with brand strategy and experiential marketing plans. But it goes much deeper than that.
At its core, Champion Circle Enterprise, LLC is here to help micropreneurs navigate the life and business of branding, focusing on the Three Cs of Champion; Confidence, Competence, and Consistency.
As a micro business builder with almost a decade of entrepreneurial experience, I know the struggle of managing a job and a company. Then take a well-planned leap into self-employment and go broke while trying to create cash flow.
Like many startups, my journey started with much vigor to fund my dreams (in the pursuit of freedom, wealth, and success outside the 9 to 5). Followed by the reality check that business management is a lot. Then, “wait, life is still living!? Great…” 😅 – yeah, that part is unchanging.
However, there is a way to create harmony between all the moving pieces in life and business. That’s where the Three Cs of Champion comes into play. Confidence focuses on your brand and capacity for business. Competence focuses on your skill set and strategy. Consistency focuses on growth and viability. Synergy is the compass to autonomy and profit.
And that’s just the first step to becoming a golden enterprise.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I was raised in a loving, driven, and supportive family with low-income problems. Although very entrepreneurial, my parents chose fulfillment and parenting over profit. Which I respect to the utmost. So, as I became an adult, I tried my hand at entrepreneurship. It was the best option for me. Since the college route wasn’t my thing, my financial/ career journey is riddled with rejection, potential, and disappointment. One day, in 2015, at my lowest point, working as a cashier at HomeGoods, two guys, R&K, saw my potential and offered to mentor me. The rest was history!
They exposed me to the life/influence/ success that I thought only existed in my head. Here is some context. Just outside my window were pavement, trees, sirens, and helicopters. Yet, my imagination is full of grand aspirations and ideas. I remember sobbing to my wife about how trapped I felt. One day I’m traveling with R&K to learn from some incredible and wealthy people. Only to return to my life where “the jewels don’t apply.” Where the debt collectors and overdraft fees were piling up…
However, that was the season that God taught me that confidence is the brand of success. At that moment, I decided to overcommit to personal refinement and never looked back. Honestly, their support sparked the idea of Champion – to help people leverage their skills and personality to create opportunities.
Since launching in late-2020, micro companies have hired me to speak to their community, consult with their team, create educational programs, and design experiential campaigns to grow their brand/ business. I’ve also helped several entrepreneurs organize their ideas into executable growth strategies. Thus earning the “Brand Champion” nickname.
People/ companies trust Champion because we are genuine listeners, focused, and strategize around their goals. We also offer digital products for first-time ventures.
I recommend joining me on Social for content and connection.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There has been a ton of pivots and repositioning in my career so far. The most recent one was just a few months ago. I signed a contract with one of my dream clients in November 2022. I’ve been hyped for months! Emphasis on “for months.” We originally planned to get started in January 2023. It’s now March 2023…
Granted, they aren’t causing the delays. The other party is just taking forever. Yeah, we’re all in the same boat. Just waiting. In the meantime, I’m sweating. I put most of my energy into lining that up. So, I have to create a new plan. A cold marketing plan, at that! With the pressure mounting up…waiting for cold responders. I would have gone crazy if it weren’t for conversing with my friends. It turns out patience has virtues and many adaptations. I’ll explain it as a question and how that changed my perspective.
We all know that life has ebbs and flows. In business, that’s worry and irregular cash flow.
So, as a question. Patience asks, “what is the true value of an outcome if you abandon the work to achieve it?”
In so many words, this question speaks to your conviction to endure the night to see the light. For me, it was low cash months. Waiting until the next checkpoint and was surprised by another delay. Since I am willing to endure, I decided to do the following:
1. separate money from my identity,
2. Let go/ accept the reality of late bills.
3. focus solely on what I can do with the available resources.
Which led to a handful of clients to get me by, peace of mind, and absolute confidence to conquer adversity for God’s blessings.
This is an example of a mental pivot. Moving from feeling broke to being patient and trusting the process.
A testament to navigating the life and business of branding. If you’re here, follow the steps.
