Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Corey Fogg II. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Corey , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Honestly I think all it takes to really be successful is to stay true to yourself and what you believe in. Take the constructive criticism and learn from it but also stay grounded to what you like to do and who you are.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’ve always been attracted to the creative scene since a child but it started in highschool while learning graphic design at the time. When I graduated I ended up using a Nikon D3000 to take pictures of my friends for fun. I didn’t know where I would go from there but it was just something to do as a hobby. As the years went on I realized that this hobby I love to do can potentially turn into a career and I’ve became a freelance photographer from then on. I’ve been blessed to be hired by a few notable companies for campaign work and social media work, surprisingly to me with my style of shooting as well. I offer a lot of portrait and editorial work and film from time to time as well.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

Networking. I really never knew how to get anywhere until about a year or two ago. I’ve learned that networking and talking to people build core relationships and open up new doors for more opportunities.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I feel my audience has just come from me putting out work I felt was right. The way edit, my style of shooting and etc. it’s draws in a certain crowd that has become my core audience and I appreciate every single person out there that actually rocks with me and the work I put out genuinely.
