Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Corey Bell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Corey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Corey Bell Ministries was organized to help facilitate change in the earth through the lives of individuals who walk and live in supernatural freedom. We believe our greatest commission is that of the Great Commission, minister to the lost and forgotten, inspiring them to move towards and in purpose.

Here’s the cliff note version to the story that birthed the mission: Growing up, I was reared in a home with parents who affirmed me-thanks guys.. love you much. Somewhere along my journey however, I misplaced those “much needed affirmations”. This resulted in me struggling at times with maintaining my personal identity, understanding my purpose and even being okay with becoming and living in greatness. These feelings remained with me even after I committed my life to God, and joined a local faith-community.

My journey and life continued to evolve as God placed me in the path of individuals and leaders who would help me recognize and embrace my wealth and worth. The process wasn’t easy but I was committed and the mentors I was connected to made sure I was accountable.

During my process I begin to notice a burden for individuals who in hindsight, shared my story. Most ,if not all of them were hiding in the shadows, awaiting someone to see or affirm them. Others just needed that swift “kick in the butt” as a reminder to keep going.

As time continued and remember, I’m still in process-because He’s still working on me too…LOL, the burden to assist those individuals increased. I then sensed this was God’s way of instructing me to create a space, platform, a community-what have you, to assist in this mission-hence the reason Corey Bell Ministries has been established.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Corey Bell Ministries is a 501(c)(3) para-ministry, based in Maryland. Our focus is to reach the lost and forgotten. The ministry acts as a catalyst aimed to empower and encourage those individuals to arise and pursue purpose.

Corey Bell Ministries, affectionately called CBM, has created platforms for emerging leaders (Emerging Leaders Spotlight), hosted faith-based and worship filled services (OutCry) as a means of spiritual and personal development and has donated and offered sponsorship in the local community (Holiday giveaway).

As a ministry, 501(c) (3) we are moving toward growth. There are several projects underway and we hope to share a little on those at the top of the year. Stay tuned!!!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Building a reputation in any market or business is solely based on being truthful and honest . Great leaders, are those who follow through on commitments and timelines, whether it means meeting deadlines, reviewing employees work or solving customer service issues. One thing I will share to every emerging and existing leader is that without character you won’t have a reputation. “If I take care of my character, my reputation will take care of itself” (D.L. Moody).

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?

I’m still in the process of completing my master’s, degree so I’m reading and watching a lot material that’s been essential to my leadership development. Actually, to be honest the internet offers many resources that can be used to assist in your development. I want to highlight two resources that have been have been instrumental to me. Firstly, my Pastors (Dr. Khaalida and Chris Forbes) and secondly my therapist. You want to be a great leader, get connected to some people who aren’t impressed with or by you.
