We recently connected with Coraline Gustave and have shared our conversation below.
Coraline, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I could start by saying that I am extremely happy being an artist and to create beauty every day.
To be honest I’ve never thought how it will be different if I had a regular job since I’ve never thought at doing anything else.
From a very young age, I have been in a relationship with hair. My grandma was a hairstylist and she is the one who taught me and transmitted the passion.

Coraline, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Coraline Gustave, and I’m coming from the beautiful country of France.
I started beauty school at 14 and finished at 20. 6 years of hard work that led me to 3 licences. I always wanted to have experiences abroad so I moved to Poland for 2 years and worked there for an international hair salon and in the meantime I was working for the label Haute Coiffure Française in Paris who is a group by L’Oreal Professionnel with the most talented hairstylist in the world. I performed on stage, won awards … Then I had the huge privilege to get sponsored by Jose Eber in Beverly Hills, California, where I am currently working for the past 5 years.
Here in united states, my clientele comes from all over the states for my French touch but mostly for my coloring technique that I created called: C-Balayage.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I would say that the most rewarding aspect of my job is the loyalty of my clients.
That’s why I try every single day to be the best version of myself. I want to be constantly learning and creating to satisfy my customers every single day.
When I see clients coming to Beverly Hills from Chicago, New Orleans or even NY to get their hair done with me in Beverly Hills … This is my best reward!

How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is a tricky part for me!
But since I started to be consistent and post content … IT WORKS!
I would say that I get at least 2/3 new clients a week because they found me on instagram!
My instagram is 100% real, like me. No filter, made with love and only my creations are posted so my clients know that it’s achievable and done by me. They get inspired by these pictures.
