We caught up with the brilliant and insightful COOPER PHILLIP a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
COOPER, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I was born into a family of classical musicians and literally heard music for the first time while still in my mom’s tummy. She was actively performing and rehearsing during her pregnancy. My first performance in front of an audience was magical. At just two years old, I played a child character in one of Tchaikovsky’s operas. That experience was incredibly inspiring, and I will never forget the day I fell in love with being on stage and decided to make it my life.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started as a classical pianist and also played the harp for over five years. My studies at a ballet school influenced me tremendously, but I had to quit at 13 due to asthma, diagnosed at age 7. While music has always been part of my life, I began training my voice professionally at 10.
My asthma was cured by a scientist from Ukraine using his breathing method called biophonics, which inspired me to share and teach this knowledge. As a recording artist, I’ve released singles with over 10 million streams combined. As a vocal coach, I’ve visited 36 countries and currently have 50,000 students. I am passionate about continuing to educate and share my love for music, science, and health worldwide.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I recently realized how crucial networking is for personal and professional growth. Looking back, I wish I had connected more with artists and creatives in my niche. Building these relationships could have provided inspiration and opened doors for potential collaborations. Moving forward, I am committed to fostering meaningful connections, drawing from the wealth of creativity and experience around me, and contributing to a vibrant community of like-minded individuals.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Currently, I am focused on developing the educational field, sharing my knowledge of riffs and runs, healthy phonation and breathing, as well as vocal osteopathy with people worldwide. Over the past five years, I have been honored to visit 36 countries, teaching my original biophonics method and now have over 50,000 students using my exercises and techniques. Watching my students succeed, grow, and reach their goals inspires me the most and drives me to create new products and programs.
