We recently connected with Consuelo Alondra and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Consuelo , thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Ever since I was a child, music and dance have guided me. Although I understood the importance of having a backup plan, which led me to study Graphic Design and Marketing, my true passion was always dance. I found myself spending much more time dancing than focusing on my coursework. Eventually, I reached a turning point: I had to decide whether to commit to my passion or play it safe. I chose to follow my heart and dedicate myself to dance, even though the future was uncertain. I believed my twenties were the right time to take risks and trust that pursuing what I loved would lead to long-term success.

Consuelo , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a devoted dance educator and coach, my mission is to empower people of all backgrounds and skill levels to experience the transformative joy and confidence that dance can bring. My journey began with a lifelong love of movement and music, which I now share through focused private instruction. In one-on-one sessions, I tailor my teaching to each student’s unique goals and learning pace, guiding them toward steady, measurable growth. In group lessons, I foster a supportive, inclusive environment in which individuals can explore rhythm, creativity, and self-expression through personalized attention, whether dancing solo or with a partner. What sets my work apart is my steadfast commitment to individualized progress within a caring community, reinforcing the belief that learning and improvement are possible at any age. My proudest moments come from watching students evolve—from tentative first steps to confident, expressive dancing. Above all, I want people to know that dance is accessible to everyone, and that the learning process itself is just as valuable as the destination.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a dance teacher is the ability to inspire and uplift others through movement, and to watch students gain confidence and find their unique voice. Dance is a powerful language that allows expressions, emotions, and stories in ways words cannot. Every time I step onto the floor—whether performing or teaching—I feel a deep connection with people as I witness their growth and transformation. My journey in dance has taken me around the world and shown me how this art form unites communities with passion and creativity. What motivates me most is seeing students discover what they’re capable of when they move with intention, and celebrating their breakthroughs, both big and small. Teaching dance is not just about technique; it’s about helping others build self-belief, resilience, and joy. Being part of their journey toward self-expression and fulfillment is incredibly meaningful to me, and I am proud to help others discover the magic and confidence that dance can bring.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes. After many years in dance and education, I am reconnecting with other art forms and exploring new ones, such as design. In my early college days, I studied sculpture, jewelry design, and graphic art, and those experiences sparked a multidisciplinary curiosity I’d like to rekindle. This renewed interest has sparked ideas to design my own dance costumes and accessories, helping me reconnect with that creative side and turn it into something meaningful and unique.
