Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Conrad Patrick Johnson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Conrad Patrick , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
If I had to pick one moment my music journey started, it would be when I got my first guitar. After a bit of convincing, my parents took me to pick the guitar up, and I was pumped! Since then, I’ve practiced every single day, hoping my hard work would pay off. In third grade, I auditioned for my school’s talent show, and got to play “Wonderwall” in front of my peers. This is where I truly got my love for performing. Although I was so nervous to stand on stage in front of my entire elementary school, the joy and excitement in that moment was unmatched.

Conrad Patrick , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Music is something I have loved from a very young age. One of my first memories was picking up my “Cars” guitar and my “Cars” Microphone and singing in front of my family. After my first performance at my elementary school, I was ready to look for more opportunities to perform for others. My family moved back to Tennessee that summer and I continued practicing. I joined School of Rock in Franklin where I was able to surround myself with people better than me. I realized I had a lot more to learn! I played several shows with them and, finally, was at a place where I could make my own music!
These past 2 years have been the best. All of my practicing has paid off and I have gotten to do so many amazing things! I have had the opportunity to play at the Bluebird Cafe and the Ryman (twice!) Truly a dream for any musician! I also had the opportunity to write original music with one of my best friends, Crosby St. Clair, for a musical at our school last year. It was such a rewarding experience and I am so grateful to the teachers who gave us that chance. Hearing our music fill the auditorium during every rehearsal and show or signing our lyrics as they walked the halls at school was honestly surreal.
Music is my passion and I feel lucky to have discovered it at such a young age. Musicians make up this wonderful community of people who are always eager and willing to share their passion and talents with others. I am grateful to be a part of it and hope that I can continue to share that same passion with others.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My main goal on this creative journey is to make people happy. My dream is to make a living creating music I love, and hopefully music other people love to listen to. Listening back and hearing myself preform is an amazing feeling, and I hope people love listening to me as much as I love performing!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect about music is being on stage, and looking out at the audience. The feeling you get seeing the smiles of others while performing is like no other. Hearing the applause after a solo or somebody telling you “great job!” after a song is so rewarding, and makes you feel on top of the world!
