We recently connected with Connie Costa and have shared our conversation below.
Connie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
“No matter how often you fail, get back up and try again!”
As a child or young adult, it’s rare to truly appreciate and understand the pearls of wisdom passed on by your parents.
I certainly did not. However, the older I got, and with my own family in tow, I finally understood how much I learned from these two brilliant individuals.
My parents have always been entrepreneurs and worked very hard. They did everything to send my sister and me to the best schools possible. We always lived in the best neighborhoods. They wanted to raise us right, no matter how many sacrifices they needed to make.
I learned from them mainly by example. No matter how often they “failed,” they would get back up, dust themselves off, and start again. Quitting was never in the cards. My father preferred to risk it all as opposed to having to work for someone else. I definitely took after him!
My beloved mother never lost her positive attitude, no matter how tough life got. From her, I learned a myriad of things, including a hard work ethic, asking for what you want, becoming a badass boss lady, and most of all, unconditional love. I’ve never met a more awesome mother than her.
My fabulous dad taught me never to rely on a man (especially for the money), to always stand up for myself, and to activate the “Sicilian Temper Mode” when needed. He also taught me it’s possible to stop generational patterns, as he, unlike his parents, is highly affectionate and freely expresses his love for me.
My parents encouraged me to always follow my dreams, and they were my biggest cheerleaders. I am beyond honored and blessed to have them in my life.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
On average, only 20% of Americans are passionate about their work. That breaks my heart. I am definitely in that 20%, and my passion and mission are to get my clients in the 20%. I am assisting in significantly raising that number and would love to see that at least 80% of Americans are passionate about their work. I work with my clients to help them discover their life’s purpose, make a career out of it, and get handsomely paid. I am passionate about teaching others that living the life and career of your dreams is possible. I am living proof of it.
I attended Antioch University, receiving a BA and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. I wanted to be a Child Psychotherapist. But a book I read by my mentor, Alan Cohen, changed my path. I knew my purpose was to become a holistic life coach, speaker, and writer.
Eventually, my career started to evolve, and I became an expert in doing things I loved and making a living from them. So I started leading Spiritual Retreats in Ojai, hosting inspirational dinners in Beverly Hills with the top Thought Leaders in the world, began writing for magazines, spoke in front of hundreds of people, and started leading personal development retreats in Sicily, Italy.
I lead business coaching groups for Spiritual Entrepreneurs and private coaching that’s Holistic and Spiritually based. I love teaching about the law of attraction and how to manifest like crazy. My life is an exciting adventure, and I truly live with gusto.
I have a house in Los Angeles and Sicily, Italy, and I go back and forth from both residences. I get to create the most luxurious, delicious experiences for my clients. I teach them that anything is possible and that everything I have today is because I manifested it into my life and followed my purpose.
What sets me apart is my colossal heart and non-judgmental approach. I am highly intuitive and channel when I am with my clients. With over 16 years of experience, I am a master coach who prides herself in assisting my clients through significant shifts and life transformations they did not even know were possible.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
There were times in my coaching career when I made $0, and I remember crying and asking God, “Why?” I knew this was my purpose, so why was I not making money? Today, I feel silly for ever even considering blaming God. I realize that you could have all the best intentions, the best training, the best tools, and a huge heart and still fail. Why? Mindset. It all boils down to your mindset. Do you believe you deserve the career and life of your dreams? Do you think you could create anything your heart desires?
And what about your money mindset? You need your financial house in order to have a successful business. You will either self-sabotage or fail by law of attraction since that is what your subconscious believes you deserve.
This is something I work on in-depth with my clients. I want to understand their beliefs about success and money. Do they believe you can be Spiritual and wealthy? Do they resent the rich? Do they avoid “money” issues, or are they good at managing money? Do they save, invest, and understand how money works, or do they spend all their money on depreciating assets?
Truly understanding money, your beliefs around money and success, charging your worth, knowing you’re enough, and knowing you deserve to have what your heart desires are all crucial to building a successful sustainable business that will last.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
In my practice, I do Biblio-Coaching, which means I assign various books depending on what the client wants to work on, and then we discuss them. Thus, I have an extensive selection of books I highly recommend. Read these books, take the action steps they suggest, and you are headed toward success.
Top 10 Success Books According to Coach Connie:
– The Values Factor by Dr. John Demartini (I recommend all of his books)
– Spirit Means Business by Alan Cohen (I recommend all of his books)
– The Success Principles by Jack Canfield

– You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero

-Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

There are many more, but start with these, and you are going in the right direction! But don’t forget; reading these books is not enough; you must implement what they say.
