We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Comfort Yeboah a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Comfort, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think being successful takes open-mindedness and fluidity. The world around us is constantly changing whilst our own individual lives take their own twists and turns. You have to be able to persevere through the bad days and truly appreciate the good days. Keeping your mind open and being fluid allows you to be open to critiquing, new ideas and gives you a chance to see through other perspectives that may help you and your business grow.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Comfort Yeboah the Owner (and currently sole employee) of Comfort’s Touch Cleaning. I am 26 years old and from Holly Springs, North Carolina. I have had my business for two years now and I am constantly growing and learning the best way to make my business flourish! I specialize in professional residential cleaning, but I hope to expand and open my services up to commercial cleaning clients soon. I am based in Wake County and I provide cleaning and organization services to the central NC area including and surrounding Wake County. Some services I render include deep cleaning, move-in/out cleaning, standard cleanings, and carpet cleaning as well. All of my services are customizable to fit your specific needs while also being affordable and best of all reliable! When you book with me you don’t just receive a service, you get the full Comfort experience!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
After graduating high school in 2014, I took a year off to work and then I started my college journey in 2015 at William Peace University. At that time, the only goal I had in mind was graduating as a Psychology Major. I had no idea that I would only attend WPU for a year and a half and then re-enter the workforce. I was hurt and a little sad, but I knew that as long as I stayed focused, I would get back to school. As time went by and jobs changed, I knew that “just working” wasn’t for me and I really needed to find something that kept me focused and motivated. I started out housekeeping at a hotel and quickly found that I had a natural knack for cleaning and leadership as I quickly excelled from housekeeper to supervisor and then to assistant manager. During this time, I also re-enrolled in college, but this time I majored in Medical Office Administration. After staying with the company for almost 3 years, I knew that it was time for me to branch out and do something bigger for myself. With the help and encouragement of my family, friends, and boyfriend. Comfort’s Touch Cleaning was born. In July of 2021, I registered my business and went into full effect, while still studying and progressing through my degree. It was tough, and there were many days I wanted to give up, but I knew that everything I was going through was meant to build me. As of today, I am proud to continue my journey as the owner of Comfort’s Touch Cleaning for 2 years and also as a Certified Medical Insurance Coder and Office Administrator.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me is word of mouth! In my opinion, pictures don’t always do you justice, but a happy client will always sing your praises and maybe even invite you over for dinner to show off their spotless home. I absolutely love speaking with new clients and hearing that a current client has referred them. It reassures me that my clients trust me and also appreciate what I do for them. I strive to make sure that my clients are taken care of, even if that means I have to spend more time or even money on products to get the job done. I love what I do, but I love making people’s lives easier and bringing them smiles even more!
