We caught up with the Could Be Better Podcast Mehtwork executives, Colin McGuire & Chris Perry a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Chris and Colin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Starting Could Be Better came from pizza, but was really just an idea for two friends to expand their ideas to help local artists elevate themselves beyond being local. Whether it be booking shows at venues in Frederick, Maryland to putting their songs, thoughts, and opinions on a platform that is dedicated to lifting up their whole selves – it kind of…just happened.
Now, 50 episodes of a podcast recorded, over 100+ shows booked, we’re now taking another risk and launching a podcast “network” of other creatives to help them reach even more people than we thought we would over a slice of pizza.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Could Be Better is Colin McGuire and Chris Perry. Two former bandmates but eternal best friends. We started booking shows out of a local dive bar which turned into booking at Frederick’s best sounding room for live music which then turned into being the exclusive music/entertainment booking “entity” for the best brewery in town…..which then turned into us hosting a podcast when live shows were not smart to do during a pandemic. From booking, to podcasts, and now a podcast network, we’re doing a bit of everything.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Listen, there is truly no other art form that I’m aware of, that brings unknown value and no value to something valuable all at the same time – but what is valuable, you could say you could measure that in views, hits, and money…..but what exactly is valuable? Well, NFT’s might be the most valuable thing you have ever invested in….
or….
….it could be better.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Freedom. “That’s the hippie in me,” is what Colin always says – to which I say, “is that why you’re always so uncomfortable?”
