We recently connected with Cody Mayo and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Cody, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
As a professional performer myself I grew up training as an actor from a very early age. I spent most of my time in theatre performing in numerous plays, but knew early on that I wanted to give film & TV a go. Most performers over the years endure different styles of training and receive opinions from all over including, coaches, directors, teachers, managers, agents, fans, etc. There are so many voices that can overwhelm the performer and what I discovered for myself was that not all of these individuals had my best interests at heart, but they were shaping how I viewed myself. I observed performers losing touch with their true essence, consumed by the desire to meet external expectations. My mission became clear: to guide them back to their authentic selves, freeing their natural storytelling abilities from overthinking. Surprisingly, this need transcended the entertainment industry, as I began to work with individuals from various professions trapped by self-doubt.
Through my work, I’ve empowered countless professionals to unlock their potential and embrace a more fulfilling, productive life.
It is all about unlocking and setting each individual free into their own extraordinary potential.
Cody, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a professional actor our careers are laden with failure. For every audition that leads to a job there are hundreds that did not. In order to succeed you must have the ability to consistently re-frame the life that you are living and see each moment as an opportunity to grow not only as an artist, but as an individual. I spent years training daily to make sure that my craft was ready for a big moment and there were many days that went by that I wondered if it would ever come. I am of the belief that *moments* come for all of us, but we have to be ready to embrace it head on when it appears. Thankfully, I capitalized on several of those moments and went on to enjoy a career that has taken me to several different places. Each win though, stood on the shoulders of many losses. The key for me was to not look at a loss as a negative. Losses are positive pieces to the puzzle that we are building and without them the puzzle is never finished. To be real specific, I had an audition one time for FOX 911 that did not go well at all. I just wasn’t feeling it that day and when I got into the room with the casting director, I just lost my focus and delivered a pretty flat performance. Months later another audition for that same show came in and I was immediately faced with the noise in my head from my precious experience. Would I mess up again? Do they even like me? etc. etc. With the help of my performance coach, I was able to release that past experience, learn from it, and use it to motivate me to execute a great audition. That day I went into the room and nailed the audition. I booked that role the very next day and went on to enjoy working on one of the more memorable scenes of that season of FOX 911. Reframe. Release. Reignite.
This lesson is true of almost every area of life. We try something new and it may not always work out the first time the way we thought it should. It is in our response and ability to get back up and create again.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Creating Magic by Lee Cockerell I have built several businesses incorporating the themes of this book into the foundation of what I built.
The key for me is that I don’t see businesses through a material lens.
I see them through a people lens.
Authentically take care of your people and everything else will follow.
