Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cody Daniel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cody, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Working on my past project from Nashville was an incredible experience. I was able to record with the same musicians that worked on records with Dave Matthews band, John Mayer, and Taylor Swift.
Cody, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Cody Daniel and I am singer/songwriter, a guitarist, and a professional DJ in the triangle area.
I’ve been writing songs for more than half of my life, so almost 16 years now. I frequently play shows, weddings, corporate events, and bars all over North Carolina. I have a 5 piece band that accompanies me on most occasions, and we like to bring the volume and the energy!
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
First and foremost, I would say come out to see live music. Streaming our music on Spotify and Apple Music is awesome, but the live show is where the true magic happens! I would also just say “sharing” our music. Those kinds of things do more than you can ever imagine! I still believe the best form of marketing is word of mouth.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Persistency and consistency are everything. Being disciplined in posting content that YOU believe in, not what you think is going to go viral. Focus on building a community of people, not the number of likes or followers. If you do those things, naturally people will come and start to pay attention.
