Vibrant Management was co-founded in the spring of 2018, initially created to manage the Cliffrose hotel in Springdale, Utah. This endeavor made us realize a significant void in the hospitality industry where our expertise could make a noticeable difference. Recognizing this opportunity, we expanded our vision to serve a variety of businesses, including incredible properties throughout Southern Utah, a fishing lodge in British Columbia, a well-being line based in Maui, Hawaii, and a luxury touring company in Park City, Utah.

My entrepreneurial spirit, which led me to create my first business at just 19 years old, and my extensive background in sales, sales management, and financial planning, have been instrumental in shaping Vibrant Management’s approach. This experience instilled in me an entrepreneurial spirit that led me to forgo college and start my first business at 19. Can you talk to us about your experience with buying businesses?
Yes, I have bought a business—specifically, I bought out my business partner’s shares in Vibrant Management. This was a significant and exciting milestone for me and my wife, Meagan.
In December of 2023, we officially acquired 60% of Vibrant Management from my longtime friend and co-founder, Breck Dockstader. Breck was shifting his focus to Cliffrose Development, where he wanted to invest in growth as a developer, which created the opportunity for us to take full ownership of Vibrant.
Why We Bought Vibrant Management
Vibrant Management has been our passion since its inception, and we knew its potential was still growing. When the opportunity arose to take full control, Meagan and I saw it as an incredible chance to bet on ourselves and shape the company’s future exactly as we envisioned.
Our decision was based on a professional valuation of the business, ensuring that we had a fair and transparent foundation for negotiations. Since Breck and I have been best friends since high school, we navigated the process with respect and collaboration, ensuring that both parties felt good about the transition.
The Acquisition Process
Valuation & Negotiations – We pursued an independent professional evaluation of Vibrant Management to determine a fair purchase price. This helped guide our negotiations, ensuring that we were making an informed investment.
Structuring the Buyout – Once we agreed on terms, we worked through logistics and financing to make the buyout feasible.
Securing Financing – Since this was a significant investment, Meagan and I had to take out a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) to fund the purchase. This was a big commitment, but we strongly believed in Vibrant’s future.
Finalizing the Agreement – We closed the deal in December 2023, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Vibrant Management under our full ownership.
What This Means for Vibrant Moving Forward
Taking full ownership has given us the ability to double down on our vision for Vibrant Management. We are now in a position to expand our impact, strengthen our team, and continue building exceptional hospitality brands.
What This Experience Taught Me
This acquisition reinforced a key belief of mine—betting on yourself is one of the most powerful decisions you can make. It was a big leap, requiring financial risk and confidence in our ability to lead, but it’s one of the best decisions we’ve made.
I’m incredibly excited about the future of Vibrant Management, and I look forward to continuing our mission to “Create a Place Where Dreams Become Reality.”

How’d you meet your business partner?
Breck and I have a friendship that goes back over two decades. We first met in 2002 when we both moved to the same high school—he was a junior, and I was a sophomore. From the very beginning, we just clicked, and over the years, that friendship turned into a brotherhood. I was even the best man at his wedding, which speaks to the depth of our relationship.
From Friendship to Business Partnership
Our journey into business together started in 2016, when Breck gave me the opportunity to explore the hospitality industry by helping to grow ZionNationalPark.com. That project was my first deep dive into the world of travel, tourism, and hospitality, and it sparked something in me.
Recognizing our shared work ethic and complementary skills, Breck later brought me on as the CFO of Cliffrose Lodge & Gardens. That role expanded my expertise in hospitality management, and as we worked together, we saw an even bigger opportunity—one that led to the creation of Vibrant Management.
Building Businesses Together
From there, our entrepreneurial drive didn’t stop. Together, we co-founded:

✔ Vibrant Marketing – A marketing agency focused on branding, digital strategy, and growth.
✔ Greater Zion Ebikes – A company dedicated to providing visitors with incredible e-bike experiences around Zion National Park.
What Made Our Partnership Work
The reason our business partnership has been so successful is because it was built on a foundation of trust, friendship, and mutual respect. We’ve always had a shared vision for what we wanted to create, and we complement each other’s strengths.
While Breck eventually chose to focus on Cliffrose Development, which opened the door for me and my wife, Meagan, to take full ownership of Vibrant Management, I will always be grateful for the journey we shared. Without that friendship from high school, none of this would have been possible.
