We recently connected with Coach T Speaks and have shared our conversation below.
Coach T, appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
I have been Coaching for 25-plus years but never thought of it as a business. I am a Social Worker and have been working for other agencies. I loved what I was doing and was successfully helping my clients reach milestones they never thought they could reach. But I was always going the extra mile, sharing my story and being transparent with my clients. I had more success coaching them because they no longer looked at me like a book-educated woman, it was now, Coach T has been where I have been. But in 2022, I lost my job and was devastated; not for me, but for my clients because I knew others would not pour into them the way I did. My 2nd thought after my clients was OMG how will I pay my bills, who is hiring right now? The uncertainties due to the pandemic came over me very quickly. But I have always been bold, and fearless and my final thought was, I need to just open my own coaching and consultant company. At first, it was a shallow thought but every day that I was not working it fueled my desire to work for myself. And I can honestly say this is the biggest risk I have ever taken; no job, no money coming in, and no idea how I would pay my bills. I literally took the last $3000 that I had in my savings and invested it into creating and building my business. That risk honestly made it more of failure not being an option because I would end up homeless. From that risk, I have built a thriving Coaching & Consulting Business that helps women who lack confidence change their mindset, shift paradigms, let go of limiting beliefs caused by baggage, find their value, and walk in their purpose using the Rage 2 Resilience Blueprint. My programs are all housed in the Her Path 2 Purpose Academy.

Coach T, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The Rage to Resilience Movement was birthed in 1986 when Coach T was 13 years old. The loss of her Mother began a domino effect of anger mixed with several actions causing emotional trauma. In 1991, at the age of 16, if she was not already mourning the loss of her mother, she lost her father. It was at that moment of finding out about her father’s death, that her rage began to fuel all of her decisions. She spiraled out of control due to one traumatic experience after another. Only at the age of 32 did she, for the first time want to think differently, and more importantly, feel differently. Taking full control of her life she began to set the intent for her life. Going to college and choosing a field that would allow her to help the very people she felt she identified with. Although she had been molested, mentally, emotionally, and physically abused, raped, and left for dead in a parking lot, an alcoholic and drug user, and a gang member, and physically fought anyone who crossed her, she refused to continue to be that person. She desired to stop crying every anniversary she experienced something traumatic because that became an everyday event. She was determined to let go of the baggage and live with purpose.
Her resilience became a tool that built her character and created a strong, ambitious, and optimistic individual with a goal of changing the way women looked at their circumstances. Her goal is to empower women to release the trauma, the baggage, and the excuses, and demand greatness within themselves. Walking in their purpose and being the Devine strength, they were designed to be. This movement is to change the idea that women always have some type of baggage that causes them to be over-emotional. The movement is to show women how to take that pain and use it as a stepping-stone.

The Her Path 2 Purpose Academy houses 3 signature programs; Rerouting Your G.P.S., Motivating Mindset Makeover, and The Rage 2 Resilience Blueprint.
Rerouting Your GPS is a 6-week Journey focusing on goals, perspective, and self-sabotaging behavior. It comes with a workbook, 3 momentum sessions, and 1 on 1 weekly with Coach T.
Motivating Mindset Makeover is the 12-week M3 Framework. We will focus on Changing Your Mindset, Shifting Paradigms, Manifestation, Alignment, Environment, the Foundation of your Mindset, and Speaking Life into the universe. We also focus on moving from a lack Mindset to an abundant mindset while identifying your purpose. It also comes with a workbook, 4 momentum sessions, and the weekly 1 on 1 with Coach T.
The Rage 2 Resilience Blueprint is my 6-month Journey with the additional 6-month mentorship. This is where we walk hand in hand not only identifying any baggage, continuing the growth mindset, strategic planning of goals and action plans, letting go of any baggage, finding your self-worth, increasing your net worth, Create Discipline, Focus, and a concise revelation on what your purpose is. We then create a journal, documenting this journey to your purpose in order to monetize later. We take the purpose and identify anywhere there is passive income to be made, or ministries to be created. We use the following 6 months for me to walk with you as you overcome any obstacles and limiting beliefs that might become a barrier to you reaching the next level of life. This comes with a workbook as well.
All of the programs can be done as a group or individual sessions. You will also be given exclusive access to Coach T Speaks Private Facebook Group. With the year program, you are also given access to ALL intensive workshops and boot camps free of charge.
There are also Digital products to be used alongside the programs. E-Books, Checklist, Workbooks, and affirmation cards.
As more of a strategist, I am so proud of the clients that are coachable and willing to trust me enough to get them from one side of a mountain to another. Being able to assist them in creating goals and action plans that have definiteness of purpose.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I have always had the ability to “bounce back” from negative circumstances that have tried to knock me out. I remember when I went through my divorce thinking the enemy has finally won. The idea a woman has when she gets married is to be married for the rest of her life. Never would she envision her husband having a child with her best friend. The one thing I can never have is a child. The entire situation almost destroyed me, or so I thought. Not taking into account that I am a naturally resilient woman. When I moved out I ended up losing everything I have ever owned, I lost my job, my car was repossessed, my health shut down, 5 major surgeries-coding 4 times on the operating table during the last surgery. But like 2nd nature, I began using the few resources I had to get clothes, shoes, and things to place in a home long before I had one. I lived in an awful hotel for a year while being on unemployment benefits. Then purchasing the car enabled me to get a job and then I was able to get an apartment. All of the things I lost, I slowly fought to get back. It’s almost like I was unable to accept failure and defeat. My desire to succeed and my definiteness of purpose would not allow me to mourn the relationship I thought I would never lose. I accepted accountability for my fault in the loss of the marriage, forgave him, and forgave myself. I created goals, changed the perspective I had on the situation, and I stopped the self-sabotaging behaviors that were blocking me from reaching success. Hence, the program Rerouting Your G.P.S.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The place in my life where I had no choice but to pivot and go in another direction was, at the beginning, where the vision of being a successful CEO was a dream I was watching on television. Coming from such a traumatic background, Drugs, alcohol, and violence should have been the one thing in life, I never wanted to partake in. On the contrary, I became an alcoholic, experimented with drugs, and fought anyone, and everyone, that offended me in any way. Never once realizing I was mourning and accepting that my life was somehow pre-determined to be all I had ever seen. It was at that moment that I was standing in front of the District Attorney in Harris County, Houston Texas, because I had been beaten up, attacked, and brutally raped and was left to die in an apartment complex parking lot, that I saw someone different. I somehow could still see the light in such a dark place, and I came out of that situation determined to fight for my life, instead of fighting others.
