Cluffy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
It all started 15 years ago, when my son was diagnosed with severe Eczema. It was so bad that we had to put socks on his hands to keep him from clawing his skin. He had dry white patches all over his body. After several dermatologist appointments, using steroids, & spending an abundance of cash on inefficient products. I decided to take matters into my own hands. By that I mean, really getting to the root of the problem. What caused this di-ease that was making my baby so miserable. I did tons of research, read holistic book, ordered herbal encyclopedias, made diet changes, etc. After months of trial and error, I finally nailed it!!! I formulated a cream that not only alleviates itching, but it repairs and hydrates damaged skin! That was such a rejoicing moment!!! Unfortunately it didn’t stop there, a few months later, my family and I received some scary news about my dad’s health. I was confident enough to know that with God and the knowledge he had given me to cure my baby’s eczema that I could help my dad as well. So, I started making Elderberry Wellness Syrup and Seamoss gel! If you all aren’t familiar with these 2 Elderberry Syrup is a powerful immune booster. It helps build your immune system to fight off cold and flu symptoms. Seamoss Gel contains 92 of the 102 minerals that our body needs such as potassium, iron, zinc, iodine etc. I made these along with other herbal supplements for my dad. So far,he has done phenomenal and his health is back on track! ( Thank you God) Once it became known that I made seamoss gel and elderberry syrup , I was delivering locally to others. One day my husband said “honey you do so well at this and it seems to be something that you enjoy, why not build a website and turn it into a business?” At first I thought the idea was ridiculous, but over time I became burned out from delivering products and working a full time job. Fast forward years later, I created my business Journey By Nature LLC!!!! The name definitely speaks for itself. All natural ingredients handmade products by me. I love what I do! I am an empath so helping people and making them feel good and confident is my thing :)
Cluffy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I make homemade soap, body butters, body scrubs, herbal body oils, herbal bath salts, healing salves, eczema cream etc. My products are formulated for anyone who suffers with dryskin, eczema, psoriasis etc. Everything is herbal infused to help you achieve healthy skin.
My most proud moment is the day that I walked away from my 9-5 job to run my business full time! Many don’t know this, but there was a time in my life when I suffered from anxiety and depression and formulating skincare products was my escape. It was time to myself to do what I actually love, and to do what I believe God put me here for. It was fulfilling because I was able to focus on helping others and not those dark thoughts that were trying to hold me down. By the Grace of God I was able to come out of that place and meet some amazing people who share similar stories as mine. I kicked depression’s butt!!!!
What sets me apart from others who are doing the same is my personality and my customers service. I true heartedly love each and every one of my customers and I want them to have an amazing experience from the time they click the link to my website, to the time that product is put into their hands,and put to use. I’m intellectually curious so I am always looking for ways of improvement and what I can do to ensure that my customers are getting the best quality of products!
My slogan is Nature Knows Best and I stand behind that 100%. I truly believe that if you give the body what it needs ( nature’s offering) it will naturally heal itself and give you rewarding results!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 years ago. I was hospitalized facing death had no clue what was happening to me. I feel that was God’s way of telling me to let go of the things that were no longer contributing to my peace and happiness. After 2 years of taking care of my mental and physical health and by that I mean, massage therapy, taking herbal baths, daily exercise, watching what I put in and on my body, walking away from stressful situations; I no longer have thyroid issues!!! I am blessed to be able to say that I am now operating in my purpose. I am a living witness that natural care is the best care!
