CloudNine, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
As a musician I would say the best investment I have ever made was in beats and mixes from producers rather than using YouTube and mixing it myself. When you have a professional mixing your vocals the audience can really hear the difference. Same with the beats, you can hear the difference in sound quality between a beat off of youtube and a WAV file sent straight from the producer. I just want to give a shoutout to Jace Camden (@KansasJace), Jawnsin (@prodbyjawnsin) and Matteo Bonucci (@prodmatteobonucci) for the amazing work they did on my last album Run Up.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started making music for fun with a couple of friends and a USB mic when I was 14/15 just freestyling over popular beats and occasionally posting them to SoundCloud. After a while of not doing anything music related I was at a show at Vivo Live Events in Overland Park and it reignited the spark of wanting to make music again, in October 2022 I had hit up Benny Roach (@wydbenny) and recorded some tracks with him and 2 months later I had my first show hosted by KMRT (@bigkmrt). I recently dropped my second album “Run Up” with features from Bump Jonas of SprinkleSumSalt on the Intro, RVR on Watch It, Wyd Benny on 4ks as well as production from Jace Camden, Jawnsin and others. I plan on dropping an EP before the year ends called “Experimental Tapes”
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I would say the best thing that could be done to support artists is just come to the shows, buy the merch and stream the music. You can’t expect artists to put on for their city when the city doesn’t put on for them.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is definitely performing, just the crowd and energy. I LOVE IT.
