We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Clinton Mansfield a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Clinton, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Ever since I can remember I’ve loved to Coach people on improving themselves or their situation, even their business. Our Coaching style on the other hand, has always been “Provoking”. Even though the word “Provoke” gets a lot of negative press, its results are unmatched. Our style is similar to a rooster at sunrise every day you hear that rooster, same time, same place. Consistently Provoking you to get up and get after it. That’s where we got the name and even the logo for Provoke|Coach®️

Clinton, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started Provoke|Coach®️ after a 16-year career as an Executive VP for a National Brand. I’ve always loved to Coach people to become better versions of themselves and to excel in business. It started with business owners needing help in Sales and Marketing and then gradually moved into Leadership Development and Scaling businesses. With my corporate background, I was able to use what learned to help Coach these owners and their teams succeed, but there’s more. Quickly I found a huge opportunity to help these people further, past the business world.
When the pandemic hit, well shit hit the fan. People lost companies, their business, their livelihood. Luckily, we were able to help in a huge way. We quickly pivoted and started taking on Lifestyle Clients. We created a Life Coaching Program like no other to help people with their Physical Body, their Mental State and Especially their Productivity.
Lifestyle Coaching- We Coach clients on their Physical Body, Mental State and Productivity
Business Coaching & Consulting- We Coach Owners, Executives and their Teams in Sales, Service, Marketing Strategy and Scaling.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Communication is probably the most under utilized tool that we have that gives the best ROI. When clear expectations are communicated at the beginning of the business relationship, then there will always be less friction, less mis-communication and more understanding from both parties. We listen to understand not listen to respond. With our coaching methods and systems, we use honest, clear, concise and blunt communication. This allows free flow and we are able to cut out the fluff.
Our Mission is to Provoke Positive Change and Peak Performance in People.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Against my “Gut Feeling” I hired someone without trusting my intuition. I’ve always went with my gut but this time I followed the status quo and what I was supposed to do. It blew up in my face.
When you first start off in business, you wear a lot of hats. I was getting to a point in my business where I knew that in order for me to make it to the next level, I needed help. I hired a company to help take some of the load of my plate with. I had interviewed companies and was referred(from an old acquaintance) this company had the credentials but when I met the owner, I didn’t feel good about their energy but I after I reviewed their work, I took a chance and hired them. I spent a small fortune and they failed miserably, real bad. I learned to trust my gut and not make a decision based on being referred by someone. Don’t feel obligated.
