Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Clemon C. Malbreau III. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Clemon thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
As a Successful Business Owner of over 30 years, success is an ongoing initiative. After being a Designer for over 30 years and Entrepreneur for 20 years of We Are One Hair and Barber Salon located 3820 Hwy 365, Suite 400, Port Arthur, TX 77642. I humbly can say success is basically keep trying daily and stay on the path of life. Success allows you to continue to make plans that you are passionate about. Being passionate is the key because as humans, we tend to focus on the things we love and continue to make better and continue to keep it as a reality. Along with passion we have to always be committed to our brand as well as being honest with yourself. In business I always try to think positive and I always wanna give my clients encouragement on their success. This success thing is a tough job; however, it keeps us putting forth the effort and helping our mind set focus on the things that help us to grow as a person. To be successful, is not this or that but as for me goal planning, writing and journaling a task good or bad and always making a note of what and how I can make it better for the next time. Life leads you to many distractions which is my number one factor in my life. I just keep in mind the journey that I am on and keep believing God has me on this journey to be successful along with his blessings, The focus on Him daily keeps me in check to count on myself. My journal stays full of opportunities that allow me to keep “Clem” accountable. I ask myself “am I successful” I will say yes! I am a person that does what it takes to be successful, I am willing as a person to stay humble with good spirit and energy. The devil won’t ever let me think I am losing when I am WINNING!
Clemon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Clem, is first a Man of God and Man of his brand. My “Brand” in the industry is very personable for me and my clients, students and fellow stylist as well as the trade. My talents comes from the love of what I do and to who I do it for, On the side of being a multi State Educator, in that arena my passion is students. Yes, I love to share valuable information as well as techniques to all. My passion being behind the chair give me the opportunity to help enhance the beauty in everyone that sit in my chair. My passion for the craft of Cosmetology is my ultimate passion to serve people that entrust me as their Stylist or Educator. This Cosmetology Business is built on the foundation of helping individuals release stress, as well as raise their self-esteem about their beauty treatments. My drive and love is helping people feel better about themselves and looking their best, My clients and students are my first priority which whom I service men and women. The industry of Cosmetology helped me to get to touch lives and give a chance to serve on many levels and give clients the look they desire. The best thing about this industry is that you always gaining knowledge and always learning. Personally me as a cosmetologist I typically work mostly from behind the chair. When I am not servicing clients I am training other on being a great Educator, being an Instructor in the classroom as well as doing hands on classes on how to. From behind the chair with working for Farouk Systems gives the me opportunity to share my passion across the US. I love the company I represent cause they show me the love and care for their Educators. This is another factor that keep making me love what I do. At Farouk Systems I have come to grow within myself. For the great Company of Farouk Systems I have grown to be a Executive Master Educator and Regional Trainer which gives me the opportunity to share valuable knowledge as well as training others. “Loving what I Do”
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In my career I pivoted from wanting to finish Beauty School and wanting to teach. I can humbly say I didn’t do that I lost the drive of teaching making money behind the chair and lost that drive, I wasn’t till 8 years late I have gained the drive back to go back to Cosmetology School and pursue my Instructors license in Cosmetology. This was the best decision I have made. The is where I realized what God always had for me. Upon pursuing and gaining my Instructors License my life changed caused I found my Passion. We have to realize sometimes we lose things in life but it’s ok. If it’s for us God will make sure that it will surface back up for us to grab it. From this Lesson I lean on is one of my best lessons in scripture which is….
2 Kings 6:1-7 NIV
The company of the prophets said to Elisha, “Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us. Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to meet.” And he said, “Go.” Then one of them said, “Won’t you please come with your servants?” “I will,” Elisha replied. And he went with them. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water. “Oh no, my lord!” he cried out. “It was borrowed!” The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. “Lift it out,” he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it out,
The Meaning I get from this is that we lose things and drive but to be a success we have to wait on God to help resurface that lost and drive and it is up to us to grab that second chance and do what He has ordained us to do.
Reaching for the axe is the most anointing gift God has placed in my life, (Demonstrate to God we need Him. Seek God everyday so He can get us where we belong)
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Within everything that we do we have challenges. Some challenges are greater and some are everlasting. In my earlier years in doing business I was young and enjoying life as we all know as we get older we mature and learn a path of success and passion. The road was tough at the beginning. I had overlooked a lot and taken a lot from people that was not on my side. Upon waking up and my eyes opening and seeking God more it has help me so much on this journey as being a successful Businessman. Don’t get me wrong I thank God for all of the challenges I have had in my life cause at the end of each one I came out Golden, Resilience is getting yourself back in shape and springing back. WHICH I DID! Out of the forms of resilience I have more self awareness, I am mindful of people/surroundings and learning to keep positive relationships. One challenge I have learned in life is that “WE AS PEOPLE ARE JUDGE WHERE WE ARE MET” I live my life now understanding you ONLY get one chance to make a good first impression, That first Impression will haunt you the rest of you life. Lesson Learned.
