We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Clayton Mcgee. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with CLAYTON below.
Alright, CLAYTON thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I would love for my legacy to state that I was a true king and modern times. I want to be remembered for my generosity, my love and support of others, and most importantly, as a trendsetter who paved away and not only music but life. I want people to say that I was a real human being and I really cared about my community and my culture.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve been in the music industry since I was 16 years old, but you can say I’ve been back active for last three years. And such time I have built a strong marketing team, a promotional brand, and a successful record label. The main concept and mission of my label is artist development through education and discipline, creating and honing in on the talent, and helping them be productive and successful as they can possibly be. We offer artist, growth and development, distribution and publishing, financial literacy, and performing opportunities alongside big names in the industry as well as their peers. I can say, I am most proud of the fact that I am a trendsetter for the betterment of independent artist around the nation. Through my independent artist review platform I have been able to influence others to do right by independent artist by way of supporting them Through our platforms that cost us nothing. It’s time we start unifying instead of dividing, collaborating instead of competing, supporting instead of shying away. Coming together is the only solution to success.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Well, being honest and a man of my word really solidified my relationships with people in the industry. So many times people will give you such sweet lip service and turn around to find out is actually salt. No one wants to go through the inconveniences of someone making promises and not coming through, or setting a time and date and not showing up on time, or just outright lying about their abilities and network access to gain favor for their own selfish agenda. I’ve always been a firm believer that transparency allows the next person to make an informed decision that serves not only their purpose, but my purpose as well. So yes, I would have to say me being honest, consistent, and man of my word has taken me a long way in such a short time.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me I would have to say would be my social media platform and networking face-to-face. Both of those give me unique advantages independent of each other, and I’m able to display multiple facets of me at the same time. People love my story, they love my dedication, and they always want to work with me. So actually, I would have to say my source would be my story simply because it’s what attracts the most people to me which sometimes does end up a business transaction.
