We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Claudia Rodriguez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Claudia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
Everything my parents have ever done for me has positively impacted my life, especially my professional life. Both my parents raised 10 children together so it was ALL work ethic growing up. There were no shortcuts or excuses; all with a LOT of love. They always believed in me and supported me and my siblings in ways I couldn’t start to describe. I learned there is absolutely no passing the buck here. When it comes to my customers/clients, there should be no unanswered questions. We get from start to finish because there is no other way. Make things right.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I left Washington State over a decade ago to relocate back to my home state to begin a trucking venture. It all stemmed from there, all the harsh lessons were blessings in disguise. It started as a business consulting journey and over the years morphed into getting more involved in the oil and gas industry. TruckerZone will always have the helping mentality as a core in our business. That is something we take a lot of pride in!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
During the (still ongoing) COVID-19 crisis, client’s businesses were suffering. It was chaos, so TruckerZone had to change its business model, mold it to fit their needs in these hard times. The changes were made exclusively to keep everyone afloat in the best and most efficient way possible. We also got more involved in the oil & gas industry as we are located in the middle of all basins and our clients benefited a lot from contracts that we were able to obtain.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Yes, absolutely, my favorite journey of it all has been the amount of resilience TruckerZone has endured. During the first oil crash we experienced, TruckerZone was formed and enabled clients to become more independent. When the boom came back, we were able to take a part in a lot more success in our client’s businesses by contracting them with our customers to take part in this transition of our economy. Obviously this was a rinse and repeat situation, as we experienced the same circumstance yet again, with COVID-19 and the oil crash and the recent restructuring of our oil & gas industry. We are happy to be able to provide these services in good and bad (unfortunate) times in the transportation field!
