We were lucky to catch up with Claudia Rodriguez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Claudia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
When I started in the art of makeup I never imagined that it will transform into one of my biggest passions, And it has let me get to places where I thought I could never get to and to work with extraordinaire people and be able to show them the beauty of makeup. As latina its a honor to represéntate at my community in big events like an example “Miss Universe “ “
Premios Juventud and many events more, I appreciate be part of a team “Muba Cosmetics” by Andrés Felipe who are in charge of makeup and hair in “Miss Universe.”
Claudia , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Claudia Rodriguez from El Salvador. Mom of two kids, Anthony and Jadiel who are the motivation to keep fighting in each difficulty that comes to me.
To be in an industry super competitive like a makeup artist maintains discipline, be humble, never giving up no matter how difficult it is as a mom and motivate other women to keep fighting for their dreams.
The part where I feel most proud is when I faced my fear and took the disección to teach makeup class to other women and see them do what they love facing their fears.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to keep sharing my passion with other people as an educator in makeup, but also when I meet a new client that requires my service as a Makeup artist let them see the beauty that they are with makeup and without makeup. The makeup is only a tool to show the beauty they already have and that I give them major confidence to go out in the world..
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
It has been difficult to learn that the critic’s or the comments can’t stop me from my goals or what people think about me!
