We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Clarity Eley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Clarity below.
Hi Clarity, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I would say my most recent music release. Working on Mirage of Fate with my closest friends was unlike anything I had ever experienced with friends before. It made the creation of music more intimate, raw, and emotive – we were able to challenge each other. It was beautiful.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Here’s my biography directly from my Website!
Weaving movement into sound, Clarity is a singer/songwriter with a glimpse of a synesthetic response. Painting sounds described as hauntingly soulful; textured with psychedelic soul, gothic blues, and rock – Clarity creates a sense of nostalgia with each song and performance.
Music being the foundation of her journey, she was and continues to be inspired by her late grandmother’s creative soul. She began her artistic journey at a young age and is grateful to be a full-time creative working diligently as an Art Director and Artist of 8 years. Clarity’s passion has undoubtedly created the foundation for her life and career in music.
After years of seemingly evading destiny, Clarity began to pursue music in 2017. In 2019, Clarity took a break from singing due to a significant vocal cord injury. Through the adversity, Clarity returned to sharing her craft in late 2022 with the release of new music. Clarity’s music is described as dream-like to the ears it reaches. Her voice, with colorful layers and an eclectic yet delicate quality – utilizing timeless progressions, trance like harmonies, and introspective lyrics that uncover stories of love, betrayal, liberation, and reflection. Clarity finds herself putting words to intangible moments, connecting listeners to the expression of raw emotion with grace.
Founding and designing an immersive listening experience titled Psychedelic Sessions, in April of 2023, Clarity landed a five month performance residency & partnership at Bazal Gallery Lounge in Charlotte, NC; and has performed at venues including but not limited to Petra’s, West Philly Porch Fest, Eastside Bowl in TN, and PS37 on the East Coast.
Having the gift of creating and playing alongside her friends Stephen Pane (guitar), King Noli (key bass), and Smoke (drums). The artist finds value in the integration of her darkness and continues to transmute through creating and healing with her friends and supporters.
…
I’m most proud of being able to heal with others through the music I’m creating with my friends. It is extremely rewarding to see so many different people; backgrounds, cultures, and professions connect with each other at my shows & online.
This world may be cruel but the skin we live in doesn’t have to be too.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Ouuf. Thinking I could do everything on my own. I was so afraid. It was hard for me to trust people; not just in life but with my career too & it made me realize it was because I didn’t trust myself either. I isolated and kept my head down for years but it helped me discern how I was showing up for myself & for others.
Vulnerability is weaponized by those who don’t understand their own.
When I gave myself permission to start healing those wounds, the most incredible people were introduced into my life. The truth is, we can’t do it all on our own. We need each other. I thought that through isolation and doing it myself would be okay – it was for awhile but then I was alone. Just alone and desperately wanting to connect with people.
I learned how to take my time, trust myself first, and hold myself and others accountable. Creating safer boundaries within myself and my relationships has been rewarding and I am no longer afraid to connect.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A few years ago I took a step back from my Art Direction business (A Life of Clarity LLC) to pursue my music career full time. It was horrifying aha. I had spent 6? years building my business, to then slow down and focus on what lights my soul on fire. All of what I have had the privilege to do has impacted my life and career. It was the most contradictory chapter of my career – a true crossroads.
