Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Claribell Nunez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Claribell , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
It started off as a hobby I always enjoyed taking photos and uploading them on social media. Content Creation really scaled up for me when I decided to turn it into a revenue stream. There are a few things I would do differently to speed up the process and that would be to stay consistent. Staying consistent is truly hard when you juggle many things but I learned it is a very important piece when it come to keeping your progress going. The skill set needed is something that can be done by anyone that has a passion to help their community. I work with small businesses and the most essential piece is truly capturing food in all its essence. So capturing food photos and videos is definitely a skill set that has helped me. Some obstacles that have stood in the way is just Learning new trends, sometimes we stubbornly create a tunneled vision in our creative process that we forget that this just isn’t for us to enjoy. At the end of the day getting creative is the first step but continuing to learn more and not being afraid to try new methods is what keeps me engaged.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Claribell Nunez I was born in Los Angeles,California. I moved to Florida as a child and graduated from FGCU with a Bachelors in Communication. At the time of graduating from university I had just delivered my son and was truly torn on heading back into the work force. As much as I dreamed of my career taking off right after college I also wanted to be home with my little one’s it’s a choice many women have to do in modern times. Ultimately I decided I needed a purpose and although our children do give us purpose I also find that we as individuals need our own goals and dreams and they don’t just stop because we bring precious little ones into this world. I quickly figured out that I needed to create the flexible opportunity for myself. It was not easy but with a little persistence and patience I finally landed my first paid opportunity. My job as easy as it may sound doesn’t just come down to taking pretty photos of food but also being able to entice. Keeping good communication with the local restaurants I work for is crucial because there is certain deals, promotions or special occasions that need to be relayed to their customers. Organizing and creating content that is fitting for their individual sales and promotions is something I excel in. I would say that content creation is something that we will see more of because it is crucial for small businesses because they just don’t have the budgets like big chain restaurants. Ultimately utilizing all the free platforms to engage their customers is the best way to accomplish making a name for themselves.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is helping out a small business get recognition. It’s always encouraging when the business owners I work for are able to see more customers walk through the doors and be excited to try their food.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I’ve had a few lessons I had to unlearn and one of them is to stop being stubborn. What I mean is sometimes we get so caught up with what’s known that we forget that as people we need to keep learning to be better. In the beginning I was very comfortable with my photo and video softwares that I didn’t think to try something new. Well I finally decided to branch out and try something new and it paid off big time my videos/photos were better. If I had stayed in my comfort zone I’d still be producing the same kind of content and that’s just not the way we grow.
