We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Clare Ezeakacha a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Clare, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
The kindest thing done to me was when a friend encouraged me to start up my NGO, he understood well the love and effortless service I was ready and willing to make for children who needed some level of assistance. He ensured I got it registered, created a logo on his mobile phone, created a profile and helped with the first three projects I organized.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I love children, I love to see genuine smiles on the faces of children. I also love to tell stories visually, I work as a producer or an assistant director on film sets. My love for humanity exposed me to various challenges faced by people in impoverished areas, so I am able to tell these stories in a compelling way to reach a large audience for a better understanding of what people face and how the world needs kindness and peace.
I am super proud of the great team I built , a team that is resilient, understands the vision and ensures great impact and change is made in the communities we engage.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I took an opportunity that came to my desk , irrespective of the fact that I had no prior hands on experience but I took it up and did some research and boom, I did a great job. This one thing, increased my engagement and numbers. I had always explored Mondays as days to motivate which also got me steady engagements.
I learnt consistency over time and understood the reward that comes with it.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I used to be very careful and extremely cautious, this made me not to take risks and I missed out on certain opportunities. I had to work on tbis and took some chances
