We were lucky to catch up with Clara Sanchez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Clara, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I’ve had regular job and I would say that I was happy working at my 9-5 because I liked and enjoyed what I was doing, now that I’m a business owner I’m living my best time, I’m still doing what I like (crafting drinks), but what it makes me feel happier than ever is that I have time freedom for my family, if I need to work I can take my kids with me and take care of them while I’m working. I’m working hard to take my business to success and not going back to a 9-5 job.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a mom of 2 (Clara and Lorenzo) I’m a wife and small business owner and here’s is little bit about me. I worked for several years behind a coffee bar, that’s where I got my passion for making drinks for other. When I left my corporate job 2020 I felt like I was missing something in my daily life, I doubted to much about starting my own coffee brand/business and it wasn’t until 2021 when I decided to keep doing what enjoy the most.
We are proud to say the we offer mexican coffee, locally and freshly roasted. Our coffee is infused with typical Mexican flavors such as horchata, churro, chocolate, mazapan, gansito, cafe de olla and the original Chiapas Mexico.
We are thrilled to announce that SOON We will be opening our first coffee shop near downtown Phoenix. (Grand ave & Roosevelt rd)
Here’s the address is 1325 grand ave unit 3, phx 85007
We hope we get to serve you a coffee when our shop is open this July 2022

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
When I decided to start my business I wasn’t working at that moment, but I really wanted to start with my own coffee brand, so I had $500 saved and I bought my supplies and equipment I needed to start with just a few things, and from there every sales I made I keep investing into the business.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source that have helped me with new clientele is showcasing my brand at local stores. Been at pop ups has helped me a lot, I’m very thankful for the stores’ owners and events’ organizers for giving me the opportunity to be part of them and I thank all those who have tried my coffee.
You can find my coffee bags in the following local stores. the merchantile in scottsdale and soon in uptown Phoenix, retail therapy in Glendale, 85 local in Peoria, and stage me fancy boutique in Glendale.
