We were lucky to catch up with CJ Johnson recently and have shared our conversation below.

CJ, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

Growing up in New Orleans, Food and Family was always the cure for everything. So being a native of New Orleans, the more I explore the world the more I see how much the World needs our Culture. Let’s take the Mississippi River for instance that runs North and South through the middle of the United States, starts in Duluth, Minnesota and flows South through Louisiana, which means building the U. S. A., everything was imported through New Orleans then up the Mississippi River. CJ’s Cajun Chaos is looking to bring the Authentic New Orleans Po-Boys to Oklahoma that you would get from a gas station in Louisiana.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?

Over the last 5 years, I was cooking for my wife and neighbors. One day my wife said you need to sell this and share it with the rest of the world. I turned a hobby into a legit business with so much to grow. Cooking has become Therapy.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

My biggest source of New clients has been Word Of Mouth. Every Friday I deliver lunch to faithful clients and usually I pick up another client while delivering food.
