Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cinthya Roque. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Cinthya thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I’ve been creating custom rugs for a few months now. It started with basic seasonal designs such as pumpkins and christmas ornaments.
Lately, I’ve focused on rugs inspired by people’s pets. My mother-in-law lost one of her dogs 2 years ago, and a rug of her beloved Tocina (a weiner dog) brought her to tears.
I aim to give people a reminder of their furry friends whether it be in life, or if they are watching them from up there

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got the idea for this business from watching Tiktok videos. The process of making a rug seemed satisfying so I wanted to give it a try. We bought all the tools needed and started learning from scratch.
What makes me happy is seeing my customers’ reactions when they open their rug for the first time

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
As most businesses nowadays, it is easier to reach an audience via Instagram. Making videos and posts attracts a few people per week, although a sale is not always guaranteed. Most of my sales have been through word of mouth, and it’s a lot easier to deal with new customers when you meet them face to face

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
We started by searching who could teach us the basics of tufting (rug making). From there, it was all about purchasing the tools such as a tufting gun, fabric, wooden frame, trimmer, and most importantly, yarn.
We had to make several rugs before getting the hang of the technique, as we created a few small pieces for friends and family.
The most difficult part is finding the right tone of yarn, as we need to add shading to our designs, making purchases a little tricky
