Cindy, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My mission is to provide an enjoyable experience in front of the camera, as well as timeless photographs that you will treasure for a lifetime. As a child, I enjoyed looking through old family photographs and watching videos on VHS with my dad. He made sure to capture every single moment, and often had to turn the camera (while still in his hand) to himself just to make sure he was also included.
These memories became so important to me because it helped me cherish the little moments I had with each person in my life. Since then, I’ve always developed a passion to helping create memories that others can cherish for a lifetime. I love capturing candid moments at events, as well as intimate moments between family members as their run after each other at the park. It’s the after feeling that is most important to me, when the client can see how happy they genuinely felt during our sessions. It’s that “oh I love how my kids are laughing with each other” moment, and you see the smile sweep across their face.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Cindy and I am a Latina Freelance Photographer. I began my official photography journey in 2012 when a friend asked me to photograph their wedding, however, i’ve always had a passion for photography. My love for creating lasting memories stems from my loving parents who recorded anything and everything as I was growing up. We had tons of photo albums and VHS home videos of every single amazing moment in my life.
As I looked through the albums, I couldn’t help but feel butterflies in my belly from the happiness that I felt all over again. Sometimes I would tear up seeing some of my family members who had passed away but were so dear to me. It was then that I realized I wanted to create those same feelings for other people. Whether if was creating memories for families, or helping businesses with their branding photos – it all meant that I could be their memory maker.
I love when clients tell me how “shy or nervous” they are, or how they’re “not photogenic” because that’s when I prove them wrong. Can you imagine the feeling my clients get when they see themselves the way I see them? It’s amazing to see how you can instill confidence in a person just by taking an amazing photo of them.
Also, I have recently started a branding photography system that helps business owners have new content for their websites, social media, and marketing materials. It’s such a refreshing feeling when I see my clients using their photos and getting such great feedback from their clients.
This is what makes me most proud and truly sets me apart. I am able to connect with my clients, understand their needs, and make them feel comfortable as though we’ve been friends for years. And honestly, most of my clients have come back time and time again and they truly have become a good, supporting friend.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

If there’s something I feel I am well known for it would be my high positive energy, responsible nature, and quick turnaround time. I’m always greeting my clients with a smile, always coming up with ideas on how to make them laugh, and feel their absolute best. I become their personal hype girl to bring out the confidence I know is inside of them. And then after their session, I work on quickly sending out their proofs — because let’s be honest, no one likes to wait for something when their super excited to see it already. This helps create a sense of trust with my clients, knowing that I am actively working on what they need and want.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

Most of my clients become like family after our sessions. Thankfully, they usually call back for multiple sessions especially if they’re booking family photoshoots, events, etc. For the past few years, I have decided to send out thank you magnets with their photos to show my appreciation for their support and also to keep myself fresh in their mind. This way, each time they go to their fridge they’ll see their beautiful images and remember who took them. The experience you give them is key to keeping a long lasting relationship. Give them a beautiful experience to remember, and each time they see their photo they’ll remember the feeling behind it.
