Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cindy Fos. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cindy , appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
First of all, I want to express how happy and grateful I am for being interviewed by this amazing magazine, I am a big fan. Every step of my journey as an artist is meaningful and important, the ups and downs, you are learning constantly…although the most meaningful project was…I think when I was first invited to sing at a national air TV Show from Argentina called Mañanisima with Star Carmen Barbieri, I was very proud of myself for being there, and happy to be consider at the level of being her singer at the tv show. She is a big Icon of TV and Theater, it was a big challenge, I was prepared, for more than 10 years I ve been waiting for that moment. It was fantastic, I come from a family of artists. My mother Adriana Pelegrini, an actress, singer with also experience in dancing and modeling. That’s why I respect this career a lot, and the opportunities I have.
When I worked as a model for Los Angeles Fashion Week 2024, was also very meaningful for me, it was from one day to another, a gift from God. I wasn’t modeling for a while, I was focusing on music and acting, but also I wasn’t in my normal weight…Thank God the brands I worked with in LAFW were oversized style…(laughs)
To be in the runway of LAFW made me feel very cool.
Having original songs. From producing and writing them from 0. And being able to work with established artists like Betsy Hammer and Larry Treadwell. Also facing the challenges that it takes, learning how to build teams, learning how to pick the right people to work with, and if it doesn’t work… move from that situation. And finding the positive people that wants to grow with you.
Moving to a new country working on your dreams, that’s super. Singing at the Sofitel of Beverly Hills with Jazz eclectic.
Singing a duet with star Miguel Angel Cherutti was amazing, it was tango, in the main Avenue of theaters like “Times Square”in Buenos Aires called Corrientes Avenue, in a theater for more than 300 people. Very special.
And it’s more to come God Willing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a very versatile artist. In acting I can be in a Disney movie, Burlesque Show or “Revista” like we call it in Argentina cause it has sketches of political humor as well. Or in a play of big authors like Shakespeare, Ibsen, Chéjov. Because I have the preparation and still educate myself.
I am brave to experiment in different music genres to sing. I started singing at the church. And I was raised with the best in my house…the wonderful black jazz singers like Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Roberta Flack. Classical music. My mother sings boleros. My father loves Spaniard Icon Nino Bravo, like a good Valencian that he is. I started singing jazz I also sing pop Latin, pop and rock of the 80’s, Disco, reggaeton pop, Tango, EDM. I even studied a bit of lyrical singing. I have wide range. (Laughs)
I have a big public that connects for my love for the 80’s. I love its esthetic, historical background, the joy of the melodies, the cute and sexual lyrics. I wish I lived that era to have that big hair. In my new song Sky Love I tried to show that. It’s a love song. It has a lot of the power of the 80’s. And I filmed it with cinematographer Jaspreet Singh “Crazy Folio”. The music video takes place on Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Blvd and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Those mythical cinematic locations that the entire world knows from the cinema! I am very proud of that. It was made with lots of effort and support from family and friends. I released another new single, this one in Spanish, called “FIN” (translated: The end) it’s a fun reggaeton pop Latin summer song very catchy. I filmed it in Miami, Florida. With cinematographer EL Vinos. I love the song, Mexican pop singer Thalia and Reggaeton Singer Natti Natasha from Dominican Republic inspired me to do it. It’s About loving yourself first. I produced it in Argentina with Fire-T Beenker Studio.
I will release soon a new reggaeton love pop song called “Viva el Amor”…it’s very positive and sweet. And also “I Wanna be Your Angel” a romantic Rock song with 80’s vibes. Written and Produced by Betsy Hammer.
I am also shooting a short film for Europe right now and rehearsing for a theater play.
Last week I attended to the Argentinean Oscars awards, “Martin Fierro” for radio it was fabulous, all the celebrities/ press of Argentina all together super glam. Then I was invited as a panelist for Net TV Channel at “Fanáticos en la TV” with Host Rocio Oliva (sports journalist and partner of soccer icon Diego Maradona) a program about the Conmebol Copa America, talking about of course my Idol Messi.
Now I am very gratified to see my music video FIN in one of the most important music channels of Argentina, Quiero Música TV.
I was invited recently at the radio show +104.7 of the famous journalist Pablo Layús singing my new songs and commenting about the daily news.
I love giving joy to people, I come from a family like that. I perfect myself all the time for these. As I know this its an industry, a business, I graduated from the University of Belgrano, Bachelors in Business Administration. So today/tomorrow unify my two careers and show business become my full time job in front or behind the camera, what I ve been harvesting for more than 10 years. It’s my passion. I always train.
I had the honor to study acting at Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in LA and with the best teachers of Argentina, Norman Briski, Helena Tritek, Augusto Fernandes, etc..
In music trained and continue training with Betsy Hammer (LA), Reina Reech, Emba and more.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In my humble opinion, anyone that has a friend that is a musician or an actor please be kind and emphatic go see her/him perform, pay for the ticket although your artist-friend may want to invite you for free. There’s no production that can sustain it. Specially if it’s an Independent show/play/video. If a friend, for example that it’s a dentist or an accountant, I am sure most of them don’t make any discounts for their work, that is actually very expensive haha, they shouldn’t ask for it to an artist!!! And they should go to see the theater play as much as they can, bring other friends, not asking when is the last day you are performing…
Also the private sector should be more involved. They should use part of the Corporate social responsibility (CSR) or in Spanish, RSE. To finance shows and make society more joyful. Not only expecting it from the state. Maybe also doin a tax reduction. I think it’s insane that there’s only 5 producers for 1 big country like mine. Established actors should be more generous and brave, actually help the rest of the actors/ musicians. We should learn how to work as a group and stop with the philosophy of the only 1 boss/king who has all the responsibility on his shoulders, and only play the role of the confortable. It’s a big cake for a few.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Traveling around the globe working in films and music. Continue growing as an artist and person. Hopefully create jobs for other creatives. Be a public figure God willing. Being loved by the public, my family. To be healthy, always motivated and intuitive. And having a Hot Hit !!!
