We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ciera Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ciera below.
Hi Ciera, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on was a boudoir session with a DV victim, like myself. She was excited but also nervous, and you could tell. So, we put on some feel-good music and then started the hype up. But that still wasn’t enough to get this Goddess to come out. So, I stripped right with her. Once she started to see some of the images, I watched her come out of her shell. There were a few times where she made some self-deprecating comments, and I was not having that! Any time she felt less than confident about a pose or part of her body… I did it right with her! Her images still remain as some of my favorite of all time.

Ciera, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Ciera, 27F. I have always loved taking pictures. I was always that obnoxious kid running around taking picture of everything from people to animals and flowers… Well a few years ago, I was hurt in the salon I was working at and was told by doctors that I needed a career change. Well, what better change than turning a passion into your livelihood. I got a new camera and went to work! Learning proper editing techniques and positions, marketing, and CREATING. I shoot everything you could need: people, couples, old, young, different race, gender, LGBTQ+, pets, landscape, weddings, baby showers, everything.
One of my bucket list sessions would be to capture a live birth!
I’m hoping to gain more follower an clients. One just to grow, but two to regain some that I lost. Unfortunately my original account was hacked so I have had to start from scratch.

I am a true believer that you shouldn’t have to decide between having your memories captured and experiencing them. I am always willing to work out payment plans and even bartering if you have a service or product to swap! I never what to be known as the brand to give you sticker shock. I pride myself on being affordable with still holding onto quality.
I also pride myself on not altering my images to the point of being unrecognizable to the client. What you seen during the session is what your pictures will be. In, my opinion, photos should be moments frozen in time, not filtered.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Everything is content! For me, I noticed the biggest jump in exposure was when I learned more about adding hashtags and consistently posting. Whether it’s a silly reel, your photos, or behind the scenes. There is also nothing wrong with reposting old content. A new piece of info that I learned and will start applying is adding MY face to those reels and postings. My brand is becoming more recognizable, but it’s time my face be as well. I learned that, even if it’s only a ten second introduction, adding your own words before your work will help clients learn you as a person and feel more comfortable. I can’t wait to try it!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe my work ethic and quality of work help me stand out front the rest. I do not alter photos or even use photoshop. I enhance the world around you, so you can see the beauty that sometimes flies by us to fast. I pride myself on consistent and frequent communication. Not only before the sessions in preparation, but during the shoots themselves. Making sure that all creative thoughts are shared. I also truly love what I do. So, while most photographers in the industry have a slow return, mine tends to shock people. All clients are guaranteed to receive their sneak peek the night of or next day, and their full gallery within 1 week (regular sessions) or on month from a big event. If I don’t like waiting, you shouldn’t have too either.
